The specter of a damned protein supplement before bed kept me munching today....Bacon, yogurt with nuts, cheese, hot dogs, jerky, more nuts, pizza, more cheese. "WHAT NO STEAK?!?!" Sis and BIL attended a funeral and wake far away, so I was by myself for meals. No fun grilling steak for one . Tomorrow is make a hellacious mess cooking day. There is an "international food tasting" event in nearby small town Sunday afternoon, a library fundraiser. I want to meet more townspeople and I have a lovely kitchen in which to cook, so I'm making cheese spaetzle and cheesecake for my contribution. Many eggs will give their potential chicken lives in this endeavor, as the cheesecake alone calls for eight eggs. YUM YUM YUM. I also thawed out supplies for a crockpot of ham and bean soup. It's supposed to be hot and relatively humid tomorrow, when I'll have stovetop, crockpot and oven all going at once. Bleh. Sis might decide to run away from home.

I checked EN, the cereal it has 14 grams Carbs and 10 grams of protein.

I checked EN, the cereal it has 14 grams Carbs and 10 grams of protein. Very good . Folks get lulled by label claims all the time and then have no clue what they're really eating. Even if you were eating normal cereal, it wouldn't matter as long as you knew what you were ingesting and it was not taking the place of protein in your limited belly space. (And as long as you were tolerating it. AND as long as you were not complaining about being so-called "stalled.") I have had a sleepless night for some reason, so my first breakfast is earlier than usual and is sheer indulgence: lovely multigrain toast thickly slathered with HUCKLEBERRY JAM .

Had two Greek yogurts Grilled chicken Guacamole Grilled steak 48 oz water 16 oz propel Special K cereal Protein Plus, with whole milk Got in 75% of my vites. Will take last dose before bed.

I'm gonna jump on the band wagon here.
Today was better than I thought looking back. At just over 3 weeks out I have been battling a major post op UTI and trying to get in sufficient fluid.
So today I made it to 50oz plus another 10oz it my breakfast protein shake. YAY
Food today was good at about 70 grams of protein, well within the 60 grams by 60 days guideline.
Cookies and cream protein shake for Breakfast Toppings off of a slice of meat lovers pizza for lunch Grilled flake for dinner with 3 table spoons of mayo Some sesame snaps and a baby bell cheese for snacks
I went to the gym and did 25 minutes on the treadmill, just a leisurely walk, nothing serious.
My next goal is to get in a second protein shake to up my protein just a little more.
Got in my A, D, E, Multi and my meds ok.

I have been eating too many carbs...and paying for it...by being in a weight loss stall, and being more gassy than normal! I need to kick my ass back into place with Protein and exercise! Back in the gym tomorrow right after work!

I got in all my protein and vites today. I also went to a pizza party hungry. Very poor planning. Now I cant get out of the bathroom. The pizza wasnt even that good...

I am 2 weeks out today and I got in my fluids, multi vite, a half a Greek yogurt but I am slacking on my protein shake. I made a ratatouille for my partner and today I was allowed to started on mushy foods so I had 2 tablespoons of it and it filled me up for a long time.

There seems to be a bit of funky belly going around our little community here. Went shopping for Immodium for my sis yesterday and the pharmacy was sold out of four or five varieties (chewable, brand name, generic chewable and kid liquid, and I think another one). I don't know if I'm having funky belly or DS issues, but this is day two of difficulty eating. I got some Dymatize protein powder the other day, as I'm out of the GNC stuff I generally use, and it seems to be going down in water okay.

I worked this weekend (nights) and am getting up now after some much needed sleep. I am behind on my vites for the day but I will catch up. I am currently drinking a double protein shake and will get in another one before I go to bed. It is hard to stay up and eat/take vites when you come home from working nights instead of just going to bed.
I will have to work nights a few more years until my kids get older. They are 3 and 5 years old now.

I was not staying at home this weekend and forgot my vitamins (Multi Vitamin and Calcium is all I take), so did not take any. I am still even at 10 weeks out only able to manage between 60-80 grams of protein a day and only truly eat maybe 1 meal a day...I find that if I try to eat dinner at night it still comes right up, Today I have had:
Breakfast: 1 Special K Chocolate Protein Shake Lunch: 1/8 of a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Quiche and a few Onion Rings Snacks: Frito Corn Chips (a few handfuls), 2 Red Vines and I am sipping on a Orange Powerade (32 oz)
Today as you can see has not been a good day for me at all, no water today at all...It is still a daily struggle for me

Doing much better on protein lately. Yesterday: Had 4 meatballs slathered in cheese 1 strip bacon 1 rtd protein shake 2 Greek yogurts ( and now I add a scoop of protein powder to each serving of yogurt which yields me 36 grams protein each serving) Doing 2 hrs of cardio exercise every other day. Lift weights 6 days a week now. Heading to Onederland soon. Got in a lil over 100 ounces of fluids. Things are looking up.

This is very true...heading to Costco tomorrow to get the good Protein shakes and pick up some cheese and jerky...Bacon is ok though? Not too much fat?

All the heat is getting to me, its making it harder to eat and get my protein in but I am. Today I had a fage strawberry yogurt with only half of the yummy strawberry jam stuff and about 3/4 of a pack of bacon. I would have had the whole thing if it weren't for the hubby stealing 3 strips. Also had a 5 piece of nuggets with ranch and like 5 tortilla chips drowning in cheese. I got half my vitamins down and have 2 more batches to go. Fluids are not an issues thankfully since I am drinking like a fish. Still have to have a shake before bed, but they just dont taste that good to me in this heat, and I am out of heavy cream

So for various reasons I started tracking my food on myfitnesspal. For some reason today I have not gotten as much protein as I needed. Just made a snack of protein pancakes. It is going to take some tweaking for my taste buds, but they were yummy. I will definitely need to suppliment with a shake tonight. Better that then not getting in enough protein. Vites are going well thanks to the vets suggestions of alarms, adding a purse pill box and a note on my door that reminds me to take them with me. Thanks to all the vets for being here. Even for the slaps and shakes to get some sense into me.

Ok need to beat myself with a wet noodle or something more like a bag of beef jerky. My daughter getting sick and me getting stuck down at the children's hospital for the day means I didn't get any where near the protein i need in for the day and what i did eat was breaded covered chicken and I am now feeling like a yucky crap. Not gassy or bloated I just feel like trash.
Also didn't get a single vitamin in, cause I forgot to take them with but then again I didn't plan on going from the docs office with my daughter straight to the children's hospital. So I am basically telling myself I got a days head start on not taking them for 48 hours since I got labs on Monday. So at the end of the day I feel like shit and they still have no clue why my daughter is sick, but they maybe think its a virus. I am going to go and see if I can even stomach a protein shake right now with how crappy I feel after not eating right or getting my pills in.
Tomorrow can only be better right?

What kind of Greek yogurt is everyone eating? I only see the plain yogurt as lower carb. I do love it, especially with garlic, but seems that many are eating fruit flavored Greek yogurt. I can't seem to find a brand that isn't full of sugar. What am I missing?

So sorry you are having to go through this smokingstella. I hope they figure out something soon. I found hard boiled eggs at our childrens hospital, a stand that sold Greek yogurt, and some chicken. It was tough.

What kind of Greek yogurt is everyone eating? I only see the plain yogurt as lower carb. I do love it, especially with garlic, but seems that many are eating fruit flavored Greek yogurt. I can't seem to find a brand that isn't full of sugar. What am I missing? the prepared brands are full of sugar. Buy the plain and add your own sugar-free jams, flavoured syrup and/or splenda

Diana I hope you got the premier nutrition protein shakes. They are yummy and 30 grams of protein for 11 oz. As stated above I am tracking on my fitness pal and I have upped my carbs to 30-50 a day. I am waiting to see if this makes a difference in my energy level. It has made a positive difference in the scale. What are your thoughts? During the weight loss phase where did you keep your carb level at?
I went out with the family today to Cracker Barrel. Which is a little temptation to me because I used to love biscuits and pancakes. I did take one bite of my daughter's pancake. They now have a selection of low carb options. I ordered 3 fried eggs and a full order of bacon. I ate 2 of the eggs and 4 of the 6 pieces of bacon. Their bacon is the best. I then had some New York Strip steak for lunch and some yummy strawberries.
The alarm for my vites saved me again today. Tomorrow makes 2 months since surgery. I can't wait for August to get here and see my first labs. Have a great day.

Yup, tomorrow is another day. Now stash something in your bag for such events. Jerky, nuts, protein bars, SOMETHING. I got snagged on this at the hospital last week, too. Landed in the cafeteria at the wrong time for real food and had basically no options besides string cheese (gag) and a wrap sandwich that turned out to be okay. I had finished up my most recent back of nummy Costco steak strips the previous day and not yet restocked. Today I slept way late and so got a late start. It's hot enough to affect my appetite/stomach tolerance here, too, so I predict it will be a supplement day.
