You're still pretty early out, so any number of things can trigger diarrhea. Took my insides awhile after my revision to find some balance. Higher doses of fat/types of fat might make your system move more, see how you do the next day or two. But I wouldn't say that coconut oil is a 'typical' culprit.

I will put it in my tea when I need to up my fat, otherwise it make me sick. Also I didn't try adding MCT oils to my diet until I was 10 months post-op. Like Girlrocker said it maybe to soon.

Other than early out when everything seemed to run right through me, constipation has always been a greater issue to deal with than diarrhea. The early issues with diarrhea are why we and many surgeons tell people to go easy on the fat until they are fully healed. I like to add a teaspoon of Kerrigans butter (from grass fed cows) to my coffee when I need to increase my fat. I find the taste to be lighter than regular butter. I've never felt the desire to try coconut oil.

For coconut oil or butter, a battery operated frother thingy is nice for emulsifying the fat a bit. For me, I can kind of like butter in coffee, but the coconut oil I can only stand in tea, for some reason. But, both do add a nice "feel" to the beverage, I think.

As this post shows, everyone is different! Especially in the earlier recovery months; it's normal try some things again later to see if they still bother you or not. I'm highly diahrrea prone; I bake with coconut oil all the time. Now spinach on the other hand...
