hi all,
I think after being here 3 years and lurking it was time to introduce myself. I read a lot but I am not much of a poster, but I think I am getting used to it now. I first came to this site when Yehuda G. asked me to come over here, 3 years ago for the holiday season. My children and I went on a 10 day Christmas cruise and when we returned I recieved news that he had passed, God rest his soul. He was such a sweet person, and I miss him. He didnt act like he was 23 but he had been through a lot with his WLS/revision etc. I still have our emails saved we exchanged on this site.
I am a band to DS conversion patient with irreversible permanent damage. I was converted from the band to DS going on 5 years now. For the last about 2.5 years I have been gaining weight, about 45lbs or so, I knew something was wrong, something changed. About 3 months ago I asked my PCP to order a UGI and essentially my DS needs to be revised, the vsg and the cchannel. I have been chatting with Dr K he has agreed to take me and revise my DS. The next step for me is to attempt to get an out of network referral from my pcp (I have an HMO) and take it from there.
I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Why does it need to be revised? Just cause you are gaining weight or has something happened to it?

lap band complications, while my vsg is being fixed he will make sure my limb lengths are correct as he uses the Hess method, I will have more info after I get a referral hopefully in the next couple of months.

Hi there and welcome! I'm glad you 'stepped out' of lurkdom to share your story with us so we can support you. I had read about Yehuda's story and it's terribly sad. We know from several others here that lapband damage has been very serious and difficult; you definitely are seeing the right surgeon and not just because he also happens to be mine Please don't hesitate to ask as many questions as you need, get all the support you can. Undoubtedly sharing your story here will also help others who also lurk!
