Due to blood in my stools and possible hemorrhoid\s in the last month due to constipation( yes i've up'd my fat intake so the constipation issue is getting better) My colon/rectal doctor is having me get a flexible sigmoidoscopy to investigate further. Is there anything the doctor should know prior to the procedure with regards to my ds? Just want to cover all my bases.
Thank you:)

Not sure what that is, but I've had a colonoscopy and there's nothing to it. I did tell the doc I had had a DS, but nothing more than that.

The description sounds a lot like a colonoscopy. I just had my first and there were no changes required by my DS. I did take a little more care with the prep since I have seen DS'rs say they had a little harder time getting cleared out enough for a good look by the Doc.
If you are still pretty limited on fluid intake you should talk about doing prep with something that requires less fluid. I did GoLytlely and it is 4 liters of liquid over 3 hours. I'm at 18 months and it was fine for me but I'm sure earlier on I could not have done it.
Here's hoping they find nothing but H issues.

The sigmoidoscopy is for looking in your sigmoid, an area of your colon that a regular colonoscopy cannot get to. If you look at a drawing of the: it's that area hanging down like a little worm. So it is smaller so I would think it's probably safer than a regular colonoscopy. Good luck

Thank you for the responses. I sent an email to the doc just to give her a heads up. From what i've read elsewhere i should be fine.
Thanks again!

Your DS doesn't affect your colon.
No worries there. Good luck!
