So, I've always had the luxury of working 3-11, home by myself all morning to poop 2-4 times at my leisure. However, I've been offered a new job that will require me to be in anywhere from 6:40-7:30 am. Do I really have to get up at 4 to get this outta the way? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Well not sure I am much help because I typicslly wake up 2-3 times during the night to poop. I go to bed between 9-10 pm and am usually up around 5'sh unless I can't get back to sleep after a poop. BTW I poop typically 2-3 times during 5 he day as well....I pooped often before the ds so the frequency isn't really different but the middle of the night stuff is. I wish it would go away but I think it is .Just a timing thing.

Uh oh...that's going to be a problem. You are just going to have to retrain your body to poop either sooner or later. I'm betting it will be sooner. I'm pretty much a morning pooper but that's not to say I NEVER poop in the evenings...occasionally I do.
I guess you are going to have to go to bed earlier and get up at the crack...like 4 AM and take care of business. In time your body will adjust but until then, take some Just a Drop to work with you and poop away at your normal time, until you can get yourself regulated. I do hope it's a job where you are allowed to go potty when you need to. I don't think it will take your body that long to figure out the new schedule. I would also stash some panties in my purse - just in case. Oh yes, girlfriend, I've been there and done that.
I don't wish this on anybody because as soon as my feet hit the floor I'm ready to go potty. As the Nike ad says, Just Do It. OK, you can kill me later.

This is very easy. Use a water enema in the mornings. You'll be all done in 5 mins.

Thx, NYB. I do remember you discussing that in the past. That could work.

I don't think it's so much to have daily bowel movements, more like to get it all out at once before I leave the house.

Classic lady bathroom attending, many of my European friends have them in their homes! I discovered it years ago on another DS board where post-ops raved about it. It is a type of bidet. I bought the attachable one and the ambient heater to help me keep my mother, who had incontinence issues and tender skin, clean without irritating her skin. It is hygienic, reasonably priced and I have owned it for at least six years with no problems. I came to love it myself. Aimed just right, it will clean you inside and out. Anything lurking and refusing to exit with the crowd gets flushed out. I only require toilet paper to pat myself dry. I have raved about it so much, non-op friends have bought one and love it, too. It is easy to install and does not require a plumber to do it for you. www.biffy.com/attachable-bidets/

Speaking for myself it isn't. Are you not able to go the bathroom at work? I went two times last night, well if you count before bed 3 tumes. Once at midnight and once at 5 am. Now I am getting ready to go again at work....not real urgent but need to go so FOR ME going through the day is no big deal.. unless back to back to back meetings I have the 5 minutes I need to go Good luck

This post reminds me of just how different we can all be, and how YMMV. This is something I dont even need to consider. My schedule of going is pretty normal, same as before surgery. Usually once a day in the morning, but I dont need any special consideration. It smells worse, so I do suppose if I had a community bathroom at work I might be more concerned, but I have no issue going at home or in public.
I do know someone else who uses a glycerin enema every morning, same reasoning as NYB.
I realize this comment probably isn't helpful to the conversation, just making it in case any newbies are researching. Definitely a YMMV.

On the plus side, I will be working in a GI unit, so patients are required to fart before they're discharged. Win-win lol.
