Dr Boyce. He was great and his staff was the best! He actually listened to my repeated emphasis on working the sleeve back to a normal shape and size! Had poops this AM, so I guess his job is done! lol We will continue coming here forever, for follow ups.

I have heard of Boyce, but I was not aware that he did revisions.
Can you post his contact info so we can give it to others?
Thanks!

He has a partner who also does the DS, doesn't he?
Has Boyce done many revisions before yours?

Technically, my procedure was not a revision, but a conversion of the Gastric Sleeve, to the second stage of Duodenal Switch surgery, which has been done in two parts for many years. He did repair the Sleeve and the Hiatal Hernia from my first operation in 2014.

Sorry that you had to get a two stage DS, but I am glad you are finally switched. I have to be honest in that I still can't wrap my head around a surgeon forcing a patient to go through two major surgeries and recoveries, and all the angst and everything else that goes with it.
I hope your recovery is uneventful, relatively painless and that you bounce back quickly. Welcome to switchedville.

Ahhh, I remember now. Most revisions from VSG to the DS are not really "revisions" and any qualified DS surgeon can do them. They are only adding the second part. You had known complications going into the surgery, what with the hernia and the sleeve needing repair, making your revision more difficult. I wish you would consider starting a thread in "My Story" because I know you you had a long struggle to get to this point. There are others who could benefit from reading of your brave perseverance to get what you wanted. I am so happy for you to finally get this resolved.

He was so methodical in repairing things I didn't know were wrong, and in 90 minutes! I am hesitant to share my personal experiences. Never know how others will use them... {:-)

You've already shared them. They are just scattered all about across a long timeline.
DO you use this screen name for work or something?

Glad you are doing well. I have been so busy with our move, I haven't kept up on here. I was very happy with Dr Boyce as well. He repaired my hiatal hernia, removed adhesions from on and around my sleeve, and switched my sleeve(from another surgeon in 2010) to DS. Loved him, but the nutritional advice, like so many others, is way off. What "shape" was your sleeve in for it to need repair? What length is your cc? Feels good to finally be a DS'r, doesn't it?
