Did you have an incredible feeling of doubt about being successful? It's not all the time. I'm on a liquid protein diet for 2 weeks before surgery called Optifast. It seems day 3 and 6 I had trouble with staying on liquids and those are the days I doubt that I'll keep the weight off once I finally get the full ds. Then I feel bad for putting my family through this again. 9 days till surgery seems forever away lol.

Hi, Dawn. I did have doubts. I didn't know about this website before my surgery, but my surgeon and his staff were very helpful in this regard. They answered my questions and advised me of what to expect. They listened to me.
We have been battling obesity for a long time, always dealing with the regain. We are accustomed to failure, so of course we have doubts. Trust grows stronger with time and success. This tool works!
I understand your sense of guilt about your family. Sometimes you have to talk yourself out of feelings like that. Remember: You went in for the RNY in good faith. You made the best decision for yourself and your family at that time. And now you are showing your family perseverance, that you are not going to just throw up your hands and allow obesity to overtake you. You are showing your family that you are strong. As you lose the weight and become a much more healthy wife and mother, they are going to enjoy the benefits of your fortitude just as you will.
