SO the day is fast approaching and I am excited and scared. I will be sleeved on the 11th by Dr. Aceves. I trust he is good at what he does and I am confident in his abilities, but the jitters are getting the best of me. I asked my husband last night if would be alright to chicken out. He said no I guess Im going through with it.

Thanks Jo. I guess I am just having a hard time visualizing that this is really happening. I cant remember a day in my adult life that I haven't thought about being overweight, and to think that being a healthier weight could be in the future for me just seems unreal.

Rhonda, you'll love Dr. Aceves and everyone there at Hospital Almater. They are the best! I felt totally calm the minute I wanted through the door there a few months ago. They know what they're doing, everyone is so friendly and the whole place runs like a well oiled machine.

I felt like that too...I used to wonder, "What the heck do thin people spend all their time thinking about??" I was overweight for as long as I can remember. And the answer is that I still think about it but other stuff butts in too. Anyway, I'm so thankful for my sleeve and I hope you have a great experience as well. Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery and I look forward to hearing about all of your success!! Lindsey

I felt the same way!!! It was surreal when I was actually heading to the hospital after so much planning and waiting - there are a few people who say they weren't nervous but I think for the most part we all felt it!!!
Everything will go smoothly - you have a good surgeon!!!

Best of luck to you on your surgery. Everyone gets jitters, but you will do great. It is life changing for the better.

Much kudos to your hubby… I can understand your nervousness.. I think what might help is reading the post about what to expect during your stay at the hospital. Looking forward to your updates.
