Ok I know I'm probably getting ahead of myself but....my revision is set for 11/20, RnY to DS. I'm so tired of shakes I was wondering if anyone out there could share what they ate in the beginning after surgery. I have a 1 pack of chicken soup broth that has 20g of protein in it. Anybody have ideas they are willing to share about eating after the surgery early on? You guys are awesome. Thank in advance.

Hi, I am also a revision RNY to DS (Dr. K). I was on liquids longer them most. Chocolate whey protein and broth was all I could eat. I would get Campbells soup you know in the red can and strain it. It was comfort food for me (Childhood) and it had more flavor. Probably the sodium. Everyone is different. When I could eat soft foods it was cottage cheese, eggs with melted cheese, yogurt, canned chicken wth tons of mayo. Do not spend to much on large tubs of protein your tastes will change. I wasted over 100 bucks on stuff I loved one day and not the next...or even the next. Sample packets are the way to go.
Good luck I hope your surgery goes smoothly. You have chosen a outstanding surgeon! Best, Whitney

Unjury has their own website and you can google it for the web address.

Unjury also has a sample starter kit you can get - 2 packets of chicken broth, 2 vanilla, 2 chocolate, 2 strawberry & 2 unflavored. It's around $22. I also think samples are the way to go. Vitalady sells their own pre-made sample packets - I got one banana, one strawberry & 1 chocolate. I also went to Chike & got their samples & got the Nectar samples from another

keyboard batteries went out. I got about a dozen Nectar protein samples - think more lemonaid/cherry drink than milkshake. Several companies have those. For what it's worth, I haven't tried any of them but the chicken broth & I also agree it's good. It's the only one I went ahead and bought a tub of. I have 2 bowel prep days this Sunday & Monday where I can have protein drinks. Tuesday is just clear liquids. It'll be over before you know it.

The Nectar protein products really do taste good and make you full. I have only tried the Mango, but it works for on those days that are rather difficult, and extra protein boost is needed.
