So 5 weeks out.... I'm having difficulty with the protein drinks. I recently started making a concoction of decaf iced coffee, a tiny but of pumpkin spice creamer and a bottle of premier protein ( 30 G protein) it helps , but I really hate everything about the shakes. What about bars?? Is it too early for bars? What should I be looking for as far as carbs? Suggestions on brands vsg appropriate? Thanks

Is premier the only shake you have tried ? maybe a unflavored protein you could add to yogurt or your decaf coffee, i ate protein bars this early out but every one is different and i dont know what your doc has told you that you can eat?

The dr never mentioned bars. I've been handling everything else just fine but I find myself hungry during the day I'm assuming I'm not getting the protein I need. Most bars I've seen have at least 19 carbs ? Seeing dr tomorrow I'll ask. I had the flavorless protein first few weeks in mash potatoes but I'll try it I'm coffee and be more adventurous

I mix my unflavored protein with lactose free milk about 3 ounces of it witha scoop of powder then i add my flavored creamier to my coffee and then protein mix, if it is not hot enough i microwave it for 45 sec at time so the protein powder doesnt curdle , another thing i have added it to is greek yogurt ,, good luck

I try everything and back down accordingly. For example rosti potato pancakes? (no egg or flour, diff from latkes, GASSEY!) Part of my cooking class. K

Be careful with protein bars....most have too many sugar alcohols and will TEAR you up. I do alright with 4 or 5 grams of sugar alcohols but 6 is a killer for me and most protein bars have in excess of 10.
