Hello friends, Just curious with your revision how long were you in the hospital after?

My surgeon originally planned for 3 days total, but I didn't get released until the 4th day because we couldn't secure my Lovenox bridge injections while waiting for my Warfarin to go into therapeutic range. The Lovenox and Warfarin are unique to me, not standard for all revisions or even virgin surgeries

Hi Dawn, Dr. K told me 3-5 days, and I wound up there 5 because of the scope of my surgery, there was a technique my RNY surgeon had used that made the untstapling part tricky, on top of a lot of scar tissue and adhesions. How long you will be there totally depends on what they find once they go in, sometimes all can't be seen in pre-op testing, scans and such. But I think the average stay is 3 days.

Band-over-bypass to DS revision and I stayed 12 days (but I came into it with major complications so he wanted to monitor me longer post-op). Typically though, he said it is about 3-5 days for a standard revision to DS.
