Does the iron in oatmeal interfer with taking my calcium?

I believe it is actually the other way around....Calcium will block absorption of iron. The amount of iron in oatmeal probably isn't enough to matter.....are you also taking iron supplements?

You are right, Kim. Calcium inhibits the uptake of iron. According to MIT, the calcium inhibits uptake of iron from non-meat sources (link: web.mit.edu/athletics/sportsmedicine/wcrminerals.html). Cant say for sure myself whether the iron in the oatmeal will get interfered with or not, so Id maybe suggest eating the oatmeal and taking the calcium (citrate hopefully, carbonate is a waste of time and money) 2 hours later or vice versa just to be 100% sure.
