As I posted yesterday, I have a sinus infection. I have been coughing a lot also and I am finding that close to where my Wick site was it is really sore from coughing so much. Should I be concerned? I am 6 weeks post op, so I should mostly be healed so why would I be sore there from coughing so much. I am on liquid antibiotics so the coughing should let up soon. Do I need to contact my surgeon?

You're still healing from the inside out so I think being a little sore would be normal.....especially after the sudden jarring from coughing alot. I've had lots of abdominal surgeries and it does take a while to feel 100%. I'd probably call the Dr. just for peace of mind before the weekend. Holding a pillow over your stomach while coughing may help with the soreness. I hope you feel better soon!

I did call my surgeon's office for my peace of mind because the soreness had me really worried. They said it is completely normal because coughing jars the abdominal walls and mine are not completely healed yet, so just to restrict my activity until the soreness goes away. I was glad the soreness was normal....I did not want to mess up anything.

It will get better. Probably tender for a while, and that coughing hurts!

I am feeling a lot better. My coughing is about gone and so is the soreness. I actually got outside and was able to play ball with my grandson! That soreness was rough!
