I know a lot of folks love it. For me its a return to disordered behavior and thinking (binge and restrict) *and for what its worth, another binge, because I WILL binge if I am not on liquids for something that is medically necessary!!*
I just go back to the middle of the road, back to moderation, back to protein for my meals first and foremost.
I think some folks think it will shrink their actual stomach and that just is not going to happen. Some folks claim it helps them gain control over their carbs. For me the only thing that gets rid of carb cravings is to stop indulging in them!!

The only thing that it did for me was to give me a break from thinking about food for a couple of days. I didn't notice any real difference in how it affected me physically.

I mean, for the folks who love it, they really really do!!
I cook in bulk, the night before I pack tomorrows foods - so in that sense, I do not "think" about food in my regular go-about life, unless its a rare go out to eat. I grocery shop every 2 weeks and what I have to eat is what there is!!
If I would give myself so many choices all of the days, I would pay some high mental rent thinking about foodies! Mmmmm..foooodiessss!!! Foood! My favOrite Dish! :}

I can't do it, but many can. For me it's another diet. I'm sure I'd lose, but I always get things back with bonus pounds. Dense protein fills me up where drinking my calories doesn't.

I agree 100% with BL.. it'd just trigger me to feel deprived and want to eat more than I should. Just going back to basics is all I think any of us need to get away from the carbs if they've snuck back in more than we want.

since a sleeve is different from a pouch (not as easily stretched) I would guess it doesn't have the same affect.
I would not do it because it is a "crash diet" in my mind and I'm done with those. like BL said.
but I know some VSGers that find it useful. bottom line: know theyself.

People who need crash diets to rip themselves out of crappy eating might benefit from it. I would not. (And yes, I have a VSG along with my DS--as all the regulars here understand, but new readers might not.)

Is the five day pouch test any different for a VSGer in terms of how it's implemented? I don't really know how it works.

Well, this question was originally posted for me. I decided that the consensus was right - it was more like a crash diet. I decided to just go back to "basics" and eat protein, protein, protein. I am also writing down everything and being more aware of what goes in my mouth. I realize that since we are so slow at work, it was feeding (no pun intended) my mindless, constant eating of junk. I started tracking two days ago - and dropped my daily Route 44 Sonic Sweet Tea - and have lost 2.5 lbs!! =) I also noticed last night at dinner that I had quickly found my intense restriction again!! YEAH!!! Now, just have to keep reminding myself to not overeat. Thanks for all the thoughts and comments. And btw - I am 2 yrs out and down 90 lbs as of now. =D
