My doctor is asking me to provide some studies. No www.weightloss.com type studies or studies by Dave. . Must be clinical studies only. Thanks for your help.

Why does your doctor need studies??? B12 must combine with intrinsic factor (IF) before it can be absorbed in the ileum (last section of the small intestine).
By creating the pouch and anastamosing the jejunum to the pouch, the entire section of the stomach that produces IF has been taken out of the route food will now follow in the digestive process.
You doctor needs to review his anatomy. ;D

And the bottom line is your blood results. What are they? are they normal? optimum? If not - then you need spplementation. There are so many studies that talk about B12 deficincies and what that do. if youa re too low - you need top get that. Anyway possible. For me - I needed injections. Weekly. Only with that my numbers stay in mid to high normal. And I feel better. Maybe you do not need a study but a new doc?

You can always go to pubmed (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov) and do a search for b12 studies.
