Hi Everyone!
I hope everyone had a great summer.
Just thought I would share an update.
Things have been going well I think. I'm down to 301 lbs (345 pre-revision).
First off...we had new little baby boy a month ago! Mom and baby are doing well. Mom is a champ, as always! This will be our last.
No issues for me with the first revision step to VSG (May 2015). I did an UGIS which showed some moderate reflux, but I'm not having any symptoms. Started a PPI and not having any concerning related symptoms.
I've started a few new obesity medical treatments over the past few months, including Wellbutrin/Naloxone combo and recently started Saxenda (Victoza). There is pretty good evidence supporting relatively-mild (but not insignificant) weight loss with each of these regimes. I must say, I feel they are having a bit of an effect, with decreased hunger and decreased cravings. Alone, I wouldn't imagine these would give me what I need to deal with this issue, but I think they are a helpful adjunct to the surgeries and lifestyle mods.
Recently started Proferrin substitute, as per the boards suggestion (since I could not tolerate Vitalady's Iron). Seems to be going well. No issues on labs.
I've also started a new intermittent-fasting eating regime. I do a 16:8 (fast:feed). Basically, I start eating at noon and stop at 8pm. There are a number of speculative thoughts behind why this might help, but a few more obvious ones are lower insulin levels for prolonged period everyday and decreasing your overall calorie intake (as long as you're not binging during the feed window - which I haven't been). It working well for me, as I'm usually not that hungry in the morning and I want to avoid eating late at night. Some body-builder-type friends of mine put me on to it, and I think it will be an effective tool for me to use. I don't feel deprived at all, so this might be a keeper for me.
Meeting with the surgeon tomorrow for the final consent. Aiming to book surgery for early January.
I hope everyone is doing well and keeping your heads up!!
Will touchbase again soon.
Bests,

Please, only positive comments, thanks.
