Now they want me to take this barium thing. Nothing but clear liquids for 2 days and a ton of laxatives. I thought I was going to die for a week after the last one and I am finally back to normal. They want me to do it on the 12th but IDK if I am. Maybe after the 1st of the year. I don't want to go through that again even though I don't have to take the GoLytely I want to stay feeling good. My bad breath went away my wife thinks its because of the antibiotics I took prior to the procedure, what ever it is gone. He only didn't get a really small part of me the secum and found absolutely nothing in the colon or bowels. I have to have an ultrasound of my abdomen to check my liver but don't have to do anything for that.

Pat not sure what you mean by "barium thing" an Esophogram (UGI) is real simple, I have had 16 so far. Depending on the radiologist some want you in a fasting state, overnight, others don't, they will have you drink barium contrast-move you in different positions etc-easy. A CAT scan with contrast has you drink a certain amount of barium about 500 mls am, timed before your procedure, this too is very simple, yes I have had one. If you post exactly what you are having others can help as barium thing is non discript. for the bad breath have you ever had an endoscopy? those too are simple I have had a few, they usually take biopies for H. pylori this causes halitosis, among other bacterial infections.

Well I'll tell you something, I almost died I think with the colonoscopy. I went in to the ER at the VA and they did a test on me called a Natriuretic Peptide Brain Prohormone test. I had been in the ER for 3 hours and I had to leave the test said my count was 1652 anything above 900 means you are in severe heart failure. I could have sat there another 1 1/2 hours and seen a doc but I had to get some money to the guys doing the roof on my house to finish it before it snowed. Look up this test. I thought I was going to die for a week. I was sick.

I was there because they thought I might be in heart failure. I took the blood tests and told them I had to leave to call me if anything important turned up. They didn't even look at them for 2 days.

I went in and only got to see the PA. It's not that my roof is more important but I told them if the blood tests showed anything to call me they didn't even look at them for 2 days. The roof is important cause it was a have to thing to get refi so we could save some money to get my wife med insurance for 1013. The roof had to get done. They took my vitals and blood but never called me. The nurse didn't seem too concerned with my vitals so I don't know. The PA said I wasn't in heart failure and he did an EKG but I'm not sure how competent he is. The blood test hadn't come in yet because it had not been read by a doctor.
