... ARE FALLING OFF ME!!! I can no longer wear my 3/4X tops- they absolutely fall off my shoulders. I had to buy new pants- UMMM 4 SIZES SMALLER. Oh yeah! Except, I SERIOUSLY have nothing to wear. NOTHING. Off to Macy's I go today... such a life!

NOTHING. Off to Macy's I go today... such a life! It is awesome isn't it? That being said, I would suggest Goodwill or some other thrift store, or sale price stuff at a regular store. You will be out of your new clothes in 3-4 weeks so you will throw a lot of money away at a nice store...This won't end anytime soon and you can spend a lot of money on clothes that you will never where again.

Illinids2- good point. I got some good deals at Macy's today but I know it won't be long before I'm in the same position again. I'll check out the thrift stores- there are quite a few here!

Fab It is SO fun and the fun continues! I have always loved thrift stores and now it's even mo better, because I fit into SO much! I also found bargains like Levi jeans at Walmart for $20. clearance racks at Target. It's FUN.

I also found bargains like Levi jeans at Walmart for $20. clearance racks at Target. It's FUN. I was never a cloths person. I would wear the same old crap day after dau. I hated shopping .. by the time I hit my lowest size I dunno who I.was anymore. I had more cloths than I knew what to do with. I loved going shopping and see how small a size I could fit into. I remember the first day I walked into a 579 store and actually found cloths that fit me. Now fat again I am back to the same piece of cloths everyday. . Good thing about that is less cloths to get rid of if I lose any weight. .

I lost weight before surgery (dropped 2 dress sizes) so all of my 22-24 were two big. Now I had to go into my attic and pull the 18-20 that I had in bags from my lowest weight with RNY. I am having a clothes swap at my house with other teachers.
This is an incredible experience and I cannot believe it as well to start taking smaller sizes. I am looking forward to the day when I no longer need to shop in a specialty store such as Lane Bryant.

I'm still in plus sizes but I can fit in ANY plus size! Before surgery, I could only go to a specialty store- no Macy's or Target or Nordstrom at all. 3X did not fit. Now I'm in 1X everywhere! So fun! i can't imagine normal sizes yet...but I know it's coming!!

Clearance rack shopping is so much fun now that I can get Medium and small shirts that FIT me. Those seem to always be the sizes left over. Size 30 pants are EASY to come across almost anywhere. It used to be I would scour the clearance racks for ANY 4x shirts I could find and deal with the style just to save a buck or two. It was almost impossible to find clearance 42-44 size pants (dress or jeans).
Now i can afford to get styles that look good on me (much more stuff looks good now than before also).

I remember the first time it REALLY hit me, I didn't just have to go to Lane Bryant anymore. I was in downtown Chicago and making a last minute dash looking for something to wear New Years Eve. I got up to street level from the subway and it literally HIT me - I could shop anywhere I was giddy and clapping my hands with glee, I'm sure people thought I was completely nuts

As you go down in size, don't forget to get resized for a new bra! It will make everything you wear look so much better and your hips and waist look thinner to have the girls at attention in their proper place. There is a thread on it here: weightlosssurgery.proboards.com/thread/8957/forget-braI've had good luck with a site called Thred Up. They have old standards like LLBean, Lands End, Ann Taylor, Talbots, the Gap and Banana Republic as well as designer clothing for up to 90% off retail. They will also buy your used clothing that is in good shape. As I write this, I am wearing a Ralph Lauren polo shirt I bought from them. I have made about $140 the last couple of months cleaning my closet and selling some clothes I had a brief flirtation with on my way down the scale. Size 16 Lily Pulitzer wore once, size 12 NYDJ jeans wore for maybe 6 months, a cute sundress I was kidding myself about carrying off never worn. I have a new bag waiting to fill and ship out to them. Just because I *can* wear 7 for all Mankind jeans and look good standing, that doesn't make the sitting arse crack any more attractive in those very low rise jeans. I've made plenty of mistakes going down the scale, it is nice to get something back for them. Shipping is always free and it gets to you quickly. I am not an affiliate or anything continuing like that, but if you use the link below, you will receive $20 off your first order and I will get $10 off my next purchase for the referral. That's another polo shirt for me. : www.thredup.com/r/K2NUP9

How are you doing?! I am the Goodwill queen these days! I stop in at least once a week. They have some very nice things if you have the time to look. I used to have 5 outfits that I wore every week..that may be a tiny exageration. But I did only have 2 pair of pants that fit and maybe 8 shirts. Now my entire spare room is FULL of cloths! the closet has two rods and both are crammed full. There are piles of too big and too small, and shoes....went from 3 pair to about 30 pair!! I am LOVING cloths and shoes now!!

Once I was back in regular sizes, I took a leap of faith and determination and gave away all of my plus sized clothing. I posted an offer for free clothing on another board and ended up sending out around 7 boxes to all corners of the US. I paid the shipping to prevent any misunderstandings. It felt good to make the space, help others, and put forth a concrete show of faith. Made some new friends, too. As the years go by, I may gain some weight, but I will never be a 2x again. When you are ready and want to do the same, please consider offering them to people here: weightlosssurgery.proboards.com/board/11/give-little
