Yep. I've relocated to Omaha, so I can't make them anymore, but per Tammy's Facebook group that's the day, and I think Dr. I is going to be there.

Yea Jan 16th is the day and Dr. I will be there. I know its far, but its only once a month and the company is good. I was able to go to the November one. Last month was to chaotic for me to go with the holidays, and the 16th just happens to be my birthday and hubby usually plans something cool for me that day so I probably wont be able to go this month either. Are you part of the facebook group yet? If not you can add me to facebook and I can invite you. My name to look me up is Chrystelle Storm. Just send a message with the friend request so I dont think its some weirdo

It's this Monday the 16th right? At the Perkins on 494 & France? Man, that's far away. But I'm going to try to make it if I can! Yup, 6:30pm Mon, Jan 16th. Do it! I'll be there! Sounds like the turn out will be decent, esp. since we're getting a DS surgeon to speak and do a Q&A session. I went for the first time last month. There were just three of us at dinner (since it was a week before Xmas). Getting together with just two other DS'ers was totally worth it though. I learned so much. Stuff you can't necessarily pick up on a forum. Ya gotta come if you can. It would be great to meet a few more DS'ers and "soon-to-be" DS'ers in person.

I wish I could attend these awesome meetings. I'm hoping to make the move down in the twin city area within a year or so. Hope everyone has fun!

Who sponsors these? I'm a loooooong way away, but might occasionally be able to meet up if someone can post complete details.

Tammy is the one who puts these together. I don't think she is on the forums here, but she is on facebook and that is where she posts the info for these meet ups along with a lunch that she sets up. There is a whole minnesota ds'er group there but its invite only.

The only person I recognized when I went was Tammy, but everyone was really welcoming and I was able to talk to EJ since I had the pleasure of sitting next to her and Shelly. Truly a great group of people, I am going to try my hardest to be there.

Crisco, Stella, EJ and anyone else I might have missed... we should hook up on Facebook. Then we'll know how to ID each other when we show up at the monthly dinner. PM me and I'll send you a link to my Facebook profile.

Hey can anybody tell me if they've had RNY to DS revision done? My RNY was done by Dr. I back in 2003 and now I would like to consider moving toward a full DS.
I've done the research but would prefer to remain in state if possible. Not many doctors do the revision RNY to DS though?
Please respond.
Thanks!

lionsguy, there are a couple of people here and in the MN DSer Facebook group that have had RNY-to-DS revisions done by Dr. Buchwald. It's my understanding that he's pretty much the only person in the state with enough experience to handle such a tricky revision.

That could work out quite well for you if you went that route, because all of your original records would already be there and both surgeons are colleagues. Then, it wouldn't be a problem to stay in-state.
