This is FANTASTIC and should be freakin' billboards everywhere! I hope many people here see it, because one thing I've learned throughout the years is truly, to be less concerned with the number on the scale, to think more about my height, body type, and, factor in that my bones are much heavier from all the years of carrying the excess weight. I knew 200+ lbs wasn't the best I could do, but I also learned that I didn't need to be 130 or 140 like I originally wanted when I first had my RNY in 2002. Now, having the skin removed, so I could see more of the hard work I've done through exercise, weight/strength training? That would be nice. But these ladies are just about where I'm at in my 'range' and it demonstrates better than any explanation how arbitrary a scale number can be, and why it shouldn't be the exclusive definition of our success.
And the article is great, especially the breakdown of the Bullshit Meter Index (BMI), thanks for posting!
