Hi all,
Im just beginning to look into a RNY to DS revision. My RNY was in 2007 and I have regained all but about 25 lbs. I live in NC and will need to travel to VA to see Dr. Elariny or NY to see Dr. Roslin. Can anyone give me an idea ofthe process that I will need to go through for the revision process? For example, approximately how many times pre-op will I need to be seen, will I be able to complete some of the lab work/endoscopy locally, etc.? I just need to get a better idea of how much travel would really be involved with either surgeon.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
C

I don't have either surgeon, but flew to Salt Lake City 3 times over the course of my entire revision...
Once when I had my consultation with Dr. Simper Once to have my surgery Once more for my first endoscopy at 2 months out for a stricture
All labs have been done here locally by my PCP and forwarded to Dr. Simper's office. The second endoscopy (and 3rd to make sure I was 100% open) were all done by my local gastroenterologist with long distance consultation with Dr. Simper.
Your surgeon and/or insurance company may have different requirements (ie. doctor supervised diet, etc)

Sudan is a vetted virgin DS surgeon, but I don't believe he is doing RNY to DS revisions.
