Well today I have actually eaten by mouth. I think my feeding tube is feeling neglected. Water so delicious I almost cried, best chicken broth ever, and who knew Designer Whey Chocolate was so tasty.
Now all I have to look out for is fever and chills. Keep your fingers crossed folks...no leaks in my new and approved tummy!
Thank you for all the support. Best, Whit

Fingers crossed that you are now fully healed. I'm so glad the liquid you had tasted so good. Just take it easy...remember it's still a new tummy.

I am so glad you can finally drink Whit, I remember being in hospital and just craving water, anything for water. I virtually begged for it lol. No you really are the road to recover and success.

And so it begins, Whit. Actual food. Just keep putting one sip in front of the other and soon you WILL be eating and enjoying lots of wonderful tastes.
I was NPO for 3 weeks once -- not the longest stint but long enough to say this -- I think in some ways that moment of reintroducing tastes is one of the great, rare pleasures of life.
Enjoy it. And no more leaks for you!

I'm crossing everything I can think of, including the 'girls' who are definitely not lifted where they belong I really hope this is a new beginning and the end of the complications road. I remember those first sips of water, broth and protein shake too after being NPO for six weeks (after my RNY in 2002), heaaaaavenly. The best is yet to come!

Thank you all so much. Yesterday and so far today I have not used the Feeding Tube. No chils or feaver. A little presure and discomfort in my left chest. Mostly when I breath deeply. But I am not going to panic. I will advise Dr. K tomorow when he calls.
