I hate pictures, but I finally decided to post some. In the beginning pre RNY After RNY Pre DS 3 days post DS January 2013 (last month) I am making some progress. Not as quickly as I would like but progress none the less MsVee

You can definitely see a major difference in your face. You were pretty before but now, WOW. I bet you feel so much better now.

It is wonderful to see your face, especially your smile. Your glasses look so big on you now. You are beautiful.

Awesome, it's always hardest to see the changes in ourselves. Rock it!

SIGNIFICANT difference Vee. Since we're only looking at your face in the most recent pic, that's the only part of the change that shows. But boy does it show. You were beautiful before and you're beautiful now but it's that awesome bone structure that is so evident to me now... and that's sumthin that was NOT obvious before. Beautiful! Now I'll bet a full body shot would show the same significant change (not pushing you to post one, just thinking aloud).
You know I'm in the same boat. Losing slowly. Disappointingly slowly. I know it's ME that feels it's slow (b/c the number on the scale isn't flying downward - and it's waaaaay slower than most on this board -- and it's waaay slower for me than it was with the RNY). But others see the difference and the feedback I get now is similar to what I got at maybe 6 months after the RNY (whereas I'm 10.5 months out from revision). From the pic you posted I'm thinking it's probably the same for you?
You look GREAT Vee. Remember EN and the 2 years it took her (thank goodness for EN and sharing that... helps me with perspective when I get down about progress)? What I'm trying to say is this: we're not out of this game yet, Vee. Not by a longshot! And YOU look gorgeous already.

You look beautiful with all your bone structure showing!
I was a revision from a stomach stapling procedure and was also a slow loser. I think I had lost around 80# at a year. (not sure, the info was on my old laptop that went to hell) I lost an additional 35# between years 2 and 3 and ended up with 100% EWL.
Just hang in there and do your DS thang...Sometimes slow and steady wins the race!!

Way to go...I lose slowly too, and you still look great. Just keep up the good work...we will both get there.

The change to the shape of your face is significant. You see it every day so isn't as noticeable to you, but WOW! Slow loss may be frustrating, but it is loss nonetheless and like it was said above, slow and steady wins the race and you are in the game, and that's what counts! I know you will get to where you feel the best. You are a beautiful woman!

Thank you forthe positive feedback. It is hard sharing your journey when you are NOT the poster child for success. My first 5 months I battled nausea, iron deficiency anemia, and dehydration. I really did not lose much weight during that time. I spent most of that time trying to feel better. After getting medication for the nausea and iron infusions I started to feel better.
Unfortunately, I then started to obsess about losing weight. It seemed everyone on the board was losing so much faster than I was. l needed the positive stories and NSV posts to keep me going. So I kept reading. I noticed as my body started to get what it needed (fluid, protein and iron) the scale started to move again. I am losing weight much slower than I expected but I am losing.
This is not my first weight loss surgery. I am older. These are all factors in my rate of weight loss. The ironic part is with the RNY I lost weigh very very quickly. Eventhough intellectually I knew as a revision it would be a slower rate of weight loss I do not think emotionally I was prepared.
I know if I follow the DS rules the DS will work for me. I am keeping the faith. Each day I am closer to my goal.

I think you are doing amazing. We all lose at different rates. Just follow what works best for you and do the best you can and it will slowly but surely come off:)
