Hi everyone I am 5 months post revision. It has been a hard road. I had a couple complications after surgery and will probably still be healing from them for another 6-12 months. I have only lost 41# which is good considering very thing but still utterly frustrating. I have also been constipated from all the calcium and pain meds I've been on. Fats don't help me with anything but lately have noticed that I'm seriously lacking most days on how muh I get. I'm also struggling most days to get my protein in. Protein shakes make me physically ill.
Guess was just wondering g how other peoe were doing with their revision to DS. I feel alone in my journey even though I belong to a great group just not sure how well I fit in. I am trying to come here more for support and hopefully friendship in my/our journey.

Welcome back. I'm sorry to hear about your complications. Do you want to tell more so that folks can chime in with their experience?
It must be hard to get in the protein without shakes. My unflavoured whey isolate goes down very well, but then, so does just about everything else. In South Africa we have moist sliced jerky that packs 40g protein per 100g. It is my favourite grazing food if I am running low on protein. Cheese also works well.
One day with insufficient fat, and I get conatipated. I enjoy lots of cream, cheese, fat on the jerky and avocados. I have at least 150g fat a day. Oh, I also have dark chocolate regularly.
Keep on posting. We are here for you.

I had an infarcted spleen a week after surgery due to injury during surgery and from that I got a huge pleural effusion. I just keep trucking along some days are better then others.
I played around with amount of fat and it didn't matter how little or how much I had nothing changed.

Good to see you back, and sorry you have had such a rough go of it. Revisions suck.
Have you tried the Adkin's shakes? Only 15 gm of protein each, but they go down easily, or at least they did for me. Better than struggling with something you have to force down.

Yeah I cant so those shakes either. I guess I have sensitive taste and tummy. I have tried so many different shakes and wasted so muh money doing so.

So sorry you are having a hard go of things. Revisions are tough. I hope you can find a flavorless protein powder like unjury that works for you, if you can't manage the shakes. They all made me sick until I discovered OhYeah! because I developed a strong degree of lactose intolerence. I wonder if lactose intolerence may play a role in your protein shake challenge. I hope the days ahead are much smoother! BEst wishes!
