I've been putting weird stuff on my popcorn for a long time like spraying cider or balsamic vinegar on my popcorn, or sprinkling nutritional yeast, or parmesan powder (need butter to make it stick), but I decided to add a little protein if possible. I tried shredding cheese very FINE, and layering that in the popcorn as it came out of the air popper. I used all sorts of different cheeses like provolone, cheddar, oniony cotswold, and some melt right in from the hot air, some don't. When it didn't melt in right away, I microwaved the whole bowl for about a minute. It is a divinely, gooey mess. Not tons of protein, but the more cheese, the better, and it is so superior to plain popcorn.

Foie Gras is fatted goose liver.
I would try using some Gruyere on the popcorn.

foie gras butter + finely shaved parmesan/asiago, etc. YUM That's sneaky having butter in there, so I'd think it was something I could eat! Can't do anything like liver - wish I could for the protein and iron.

I dont know that you can add any meaningful protein to popcorn. For me, sometimes a food that I want is just a food that I want. I'd eat the popcorn, if it's what you're craving, and wash it down with a protein shake.

I'd eat the popcorn, if it's what you're craving, and wash it down with a protein shake. That's mostly true, but I realized that I'd eaten the entire bowl of popcorn yesterday, and it had about 3 cups of fluffily shredded cheese melted in it, which must be worth something. I now have to see how much of the block gets shredded to make 3 cups of shred. Even if it adds nothing (like the vinegar I'm always spraying on it) gooey cheese makes everything better.

I'm with you on the gooey cheese thing. In fact gooey cheese was pretty much my lunch today.
