So today I got my poor pathetic right thumb unstuck YAY. I might not be quite so YAY tomorrow, but that sucker is FIXED and I can move it far more freely with fresh incision and stitches than I could when I got up this morning. Also got to get way cool stoned ;D. Very nice cocktail. So to the FUN: I got this done on the outpatient side of the place where Dr. Greenbaum has just started doing the DS. Every person along the way who saw DS on my paperwork lit up like Christmas trees and asked questions. Every single one of them could not BELIEVE I was five years out and maintaining 92% EWL. They were accustomed to seeing those "other" procedures and far less impressive results. Anesthesia dude, in particular, was really excited to talk about it. He's been on a few cases and got big round eyes talking about the size of the procedure and the risks involved to the patients, who are often the biggest and sickest of all the obese patients, of course. It was kind of cute to see his eyes get a little bigger when I recited the details of my procedure to him lol. Most people, as we know, don't know that stuff. He commented on that, too--lack of patient research and education. So as we marched off to the OR, he made sure everyone in the room knew to look at my file and see the stats. It sure was fun to drift off to sleep telling people I'd lost 240 pounds .

Hehehe Don't you love educating people on something they think they are 'educated' on. Glad all went well for you Now just remember to take it easy!

Sorry about your finger en. On the bright side, I am sure glad that you showed that ds'rs know their stuff and that you set them straight on it! I can't think of a better person to do so.
