I had no insurance and since I was going to be self pay I put much more research into it than I otherwise might have. Luckily for me, as my PCP thought a lap band was the best choice but I read enough about it to know it wasn't want I wanted.
I chose VSG and could have self payed in this country but for a lot more money. three times as much to have gone to the nice folks in San Francisco.
the small, private hospital where I had my surgery was excellent and I could not say enough about how much I liked and respected my surgeon and his team. it was the right decision.

Hi I had surgery 3 1/2 years ago. actually, I live in the Nebraska panhandle but you can't get VSG here.
