I don't know what it is, but I have been doing just the dumbest stuff since surgery. Maybe it's because I'm getting in so little nutrients? Some examples... I've fallen over my own pajama pants, I've let the dog out and forgot to go get him for nearly 2 hours, I am really clumsy now and I knock things over constantly, today at the grocery store I tried to close my tailgate while my head was still in the way. Got a nice bump on the head with that. Wtf is going on here? Am I gonna be all spaced out for a while? Oh, and the check out girl told me I must be really tired. Apparently, I look like shit today. haha

I had lots of problems from the anesthesia. I was spaced out for about a month.

Are you getting in enough fluids?

Are you getting in enough fluids? Not as much as I should be, no. I'm getting 40+ oz, but not 60+ yet. I've tried drinking with a straw, which helps a lot, but it's still been difficult. I am working on it, though! I never thought the hydration part would be tough. Think that's the culprit?

Could be, if you're severely dehyrdated. Do you have any other symptoms, like nausea, dizziness?
Try to drink more, it's important in so many ways. My surgeon described it like a perfect storm - you're eating less so you're missing the water content in food, you are rapidly losing weight, which is also includes fluids, and you probably have watery bowel movements. You have to replace those fluids, and them some.

When I was early out, what worked for me was setting goals throughout the day. For example, 16 oz by 10am, 32 oz by 1pm, etc. It helped keep me on pace.

I've had some early morning nausea, but no dizziness or anything like that. I finally got some True Lemon Lemonade to help with flavor. Other flavors and drinks I've tried have not worked out. So, tomorrow I will set my goal for 64oz, and break it down like you suggested! Thanks.

I am having all the same problems as you, especially after a 1/2 mile fast incline treadmill. When I stop, and walk off the machine I feel like I am floating. I sip water all through my gym work out. I was having low fluid totals until I changed my drinking travel cup last week. Its a stainless steel" Bubba"brand, wide mouth for bottle brush cleaning, or dishwasher, holds 16 oz. and my mixing wand from GHP fits inside. I found the cup at Walmart, bought several to keep filled in the fridge. hot liquids or cold keep for hrs. I like protein hot chocolate or Mocha too. The hole in the top is large enough to drink more fluid at a time, allowing faster flow of fluids. I use 2 protein packets from GHP = 30g protein. I have a craving for lemonade too. Don't want to drink any thing else. My fluid numbers are in the high 70's--low 80's with a change in cups. I use straws too with Muscle Milk bottles, but was advised no straws by my Nut, too much air enters the stomach, taking up room instead of protein. Its a hard habit to change for me.

Aside from dehydration it could also be a lack of protein. I know I was spacey as, until recently when I finally found a protein drink I didn't want to hurl right back up. Now getting at least 100gms of protein a day, my concentration has increased and my vagueness has decreased. FYI - I'm only 8 weeks out. Up your protein and see if it helps, it couldn't hurt any worse than concussing yourself

Drinking with a straw was a no no according to my surgeon. She has us using a toddler sippy cup and I could do 64 oz from the first week. I am 3 months out and still use it most of the time, I do drink from a regular glass when we are out though........ Are you getting in enough fluids? Not as much as I should be, no. I'm getting 40+ oz, but not 60+ yet. I've tried drinking with a straw, which helps a lot, but it's still been difficult. I am working on it, though! I never thought the hydration part would be tough. Straws are a no no with my instructions too. From now on I will pour the muscle Milk into my stainless steel "To Go" mugs with the flip lids. My fluids are averaging 79oz and protein 130, consistently now. I did read dehydration was a possible cause of dizzy spells. My gym schedule changes from week to week. I am not able to hydrate enough before my morning work out, I bet, even though I sip from a water bottle after every set of exercises. After, I always have a protein shake on the way home. Yesterday I forgot to pack a shake, sipped a Muscle Milk Lite at the market while I shopped. No excuses to get fluid and protein. At check out the checker wondered why one of the bottles was so lite!!! ;-)

Kingy- It's likely the combo! I've tried numerous protein powders and RTD's. I have a bottle of Muscle Milk to try in the fridge. If I could find a protein drink I like, I would be MUCH happier! I know everyone doctors them up, but I'm really bad with that kind of stuff... dragging out a blender in my tiny kitchen, etc. etc. I actually really liked the Premiere ones (US only, I think), but they killed my stomach. I'll give them a go again in a few weeks. Pk- Yeah, my instructions say no straw too, but I didn't listen. :-p I can get A LOT more fluids in this way, and much less air. For some reason when I try to drink from a regular glass, I gulp a ton of air, even when I'm trying to sip. Took a sippy cup with me to the hospital, and it worked great! I'd never be able to get in 64oz that way though. Scopely- Hopefully Muscle Milk will work for me! Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.

Yes crossing fingers for all of us!!! Be sure to read the small print on the nutrition labels for all the Muscle milk types, such a variety! the carbs, sugar, lactose free..... I went with the lowest carbs, lactose free. My Nut suggested limiting carbs to 50 to break my last stall, and up protein and fats. Watch out for those tiny carbs, they add up fast. this week, I have been adding unflavored protein powder to all my drinks, and soups. Nector and Unjury have unflavored. I ordered the Unjury on line, and individual serving packets for travel too. Stir either of them into a warm smooth soup with a spoon, no blender needed. Makes restaurant meals easy, packed full of protein.
