I've had some liquid and in many different colors since this surgery. I would call your surgeon and see what he suggests. I've had multiple poops but not 4 hours worth...your poor tooshie!

When I was going through that, the nurse told me to use A&D, I think it was. For babies butts, I prefer Beaudreaux's Butt Paste I use baby wipes after, it seems to help. I still have acidic type poo's. How did you manage to eat salad at 11 days out? You have an iron stomach? Wow! me

I'd call your doctor and talk with him about it. I wonder if there is something in your diet that is causing you to have this sort of reaction. I had only one morning about a week and a half after surgery, where I was on the toilet for a few hours. I'd taken a whole bunch of vitamins for the first time the night before and ended up with a very upset stomach. It wasn't diarrhea but it was soft serve--yuck. I'm no expert but I'd venture to say that this pure yellow liquid isn't normal. My poop has been yellow since surgery but it's of normal consistency.
Call your doctor and let us know what he/she says. I'm so curious! (even with the TMI which I LOVE)

I'm most worried about these statements:

and
"I haven't found anything that I can't tolerate yet, except when I went to the Olive Garden at about 11 days out and had a few bites of salad with their dressing. That dressing did NOT agree with me. I've since had it and it didn't bother me at all."
Although I understand you're not a virgin DS you still need to be careful about what you're eating this early out. Your guts are raw and healing. Give them a break. Salad is NOT ok. And although I know because of a revision your eating instructions may have been different but at the same time it doesnt mean you can eat like a normie. I'm not surprised you're pooing funny things right now.
On another note...
My poo didn't start to get "normal" until a few months in. I poo about 3 times between 6am and 9am and unless I have something really fatty to make me go one more time at night I don't poo at all the rest of the day. This is normal for me but not be for you or anyone else.
I have also pooed liquid gold and it doen't come from liquid in liquid out (my bladder handles the liquid I consume just fine). It comes from the kind of food I'm eating. Certain fats and carbs will make me do exactly what you're doing.
As for your stall. THROW AWAY YOUR SCALE OR SHUT UP. That is you're best bet. I've met people who think of their DS as a science experiment (me included) who weigh themselves several times a day without a complaint or question and then I've met people who weight themselves and freak out about stalls. They happen. They happen for unknown amounts of time. You're stall may be shorter or longer than someone elses. It may be sooner or later than others. If this at all bothers you THROW AWAY THE DAMN SCALE.
Above all the #1 piece of advice I can give you is, if you feel the need to post about a medical problem on here also make a call to your doc. It doesnt matter what time of day or night or how simple the question. They're there for you.

I'm just like you in this way J, I don't get upset by what the scale says so weighing myself isn't a huge ordeal for me. But i love to see how what I eat each day affects the numbers. So I weigh, take in the information, and move on. I'm more interested in how my clothes fit.
As for the eating and pooping, Switched, I'd definitely bring your diet back to something more simple and then introduce new foods as you go. I'm by no means an expert but the liquid poop can't be a good sign. My doc said salad was a no-no until after about 8 weeks. Also said no to all breads and meat since those are two types of food that are difficult to digest and he said that my suture line in my stomach is still fresh and could develop a leak as far as 10 months out. I'm trying to be safe and not sorry.
Oh, and I'm going into my 4th week and haven't lost any weight since week 2 either! But just like you, I've lost inches and I'm going down in sizes. So who the fuck cares about the numbers, right? You and I are on our way down together!

Just some random ideas~ You could have temporary lactose intolerance. Sugar will do this to you if you are not restricting simple carbs. You should not have to be close to a bathroom at this point IMHO. Let us know what advice your surgeon gives. Hope it is better soon.,

Hey Switched,
IT will take a while for your intestines to normalize. While your stomach is fine and can eat anything, your intestines still need time to adjust. It took me 3-4 months before poop starting to become more like normal in terms of pooping intervals and texture. It also helps to watch which foods you eat, and through process of elimination figure out which foods are wreaking havoc on your freshly-cut intestines. If you're eating everything your stomach can handle (which is more than what your intestines can at the moment) you may be setting yourself up for some trouble with figuring out which foods are making your intestines worse.
Try going back to some food basics for a while, cut out the veggies, carbs and roughage and see what happens.

the poo cycle will get better and eventually normalize but it takes months, not weeks. Some peep's intestines adjust to the changes sooner than others, but try not to have unrealistic expectations. Desetin works miracles in case your pooper gets sore from frequent BMs.
And always remember: don't trust a fart! (for the first few months).

As everyone else said, it takes a few months for your intestines to adapt and for things to level off to what is normal for you. I think you're pushing it with your diet - I would stick to some very basics for now until your intestines have a chance to heal and adapt.

Hi Mindy,
Seems I've been cursed with constipation so I can't really relate to your situation but I do remember some years back when I first started with all the vites (long before I even heard of a DS) that certain vites definitely had a laxative effect on me for quite a while until I reached bowel tolerance. The main culprits were Vitamin C and Magnesium but with newly altered guts I imagine other vites could do it too. However, I agree with everyone else that you should probably cut back on the dense proteins for now. Your stomach may be able to handle it just fine but your guts are still confused and wondering what the heck happened to them. You've already eliminated milk as a potential problem and you are keeping carbs under control so I imagine it has to be the dense proteins and/or the vites.
As for stalls, man do they vary. I lost 6# my first week post op and then I hit a stall. I didn't care because I knew I could not beat this surgery so I waited. And waited. And waited....and finally I feel like a real DS'er because I am in free fall and the weight is just dropping off. For now. Until the next stall. And when that hits I won't care because I know another free fall will follow. Most DS'ers start with a free fall and then stall so I of course had to do it backwards. It doesn't matter because in the end the weight will come off and the stalls will be a distant memory.

I can't get used to stalls, when sticking to my D.S. diet. After a 3 week stall, went clothing shopping. Was I ever happily surprised how many clothing sizes I had dropped!! I learned the scale doesn't tell the whole story!! Best wishes with your journey. ;-)

Mindy I remember Tammy and a few other of the Dr.B DS'ers telling me that Dr.B likes all his patietnts to move along fairly quickly transitioning food wise. Usually alot faster then most Doctors do.

Oh that reminds me when we had the DS'er meet up last month at perkins and Dr. B was the guest speaker he mentioned something about getting a maintenance dose of flagyl of like 250mg once a day to keep the bugs at bay and to help keep the paint peeling gas away. He told everyone there who was post op to give a call to Danette and ask about it.
