I am 5 1/2 years post op.Weight loss good, was 15 pounds under, now right on the money. Labs good except vit D is low (working on it.) Problem- skin. I get bruises and cuts and scratches from "nowhere". They don't heal well. I have patches of eczema on the back of my hand too. Any thoughts? Should I take extra zinc or have my copper checked? Increase biotin?

Who says your labs are good? And what labs are they saying are good? 99.9% of surgeons and pcp docs are clueless about DS lab/vite needs. You need ALL the labs that VitaLady recommends: docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AU46vLsRDC9rZGhranhtcXpfOGNxcDk2c2c0&hl=enSorry I can't hotlink that but you should be able to copy/paste it. THEN you need a DS lab expert to interpret your results. I don't know a thing about vites/labs. I just do what I just recommended to you. I do know that you should not be bruising and such and I would bet $500.00 that you are not getting all the vites/labs you need. Let me know if I win the bet??? And best wishes to you! ~Becky

I have been told K1 helps with the bruising. My Doc recomended it early on and I continue to take it
Caution! if you have heart problems/on blood thinners, discuss K1 with your doctor, before adding or changing doses.

I have that problem when I was taking the wrong kind of vitamin K. Once I started taking K1 that problem cleared itself up.

Yeah, I don't take vitamin K at all. Used to take ADEKs but when I couldn't get them anymore I stopped. Guess I could look at vitalady site?
