All I know is that our hormones get all messed up from this surgery (actually, from surgery in general) so I'd just say expect the unexpected. I have PCOS and know that my period comes about every 6 weeks to 2 months. But the day after surgery (less than a month into my cycle) I got my period--full blown. Some get it for a couple of weeks after surgery. And some don't get it at all for a while. Unless you have been having unprotected sex and could possibly be pregnant, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Wishing you luck Switched! And happy new year!
Sheri

I wasn't scheduled for my visit during my surgery but I came prepared and I didn't get it. In fact I missed that entire month and started the following month on the 11th (the date of my surgery the month before). I am very regular and this is the first time I have ever really skipped an entire month, maybe it is my age.
So far I have been very regular and I know I am very fertile, last time I lost a lot of weight I got pregnant so I am taking all necessary precautions.

Mine had been MIA for like 2.5 months prior to surgery and then just showed up about a week post-op!

I had read that some people get it right after surgery, too. So I was all prepared with my products at the hospital. Nothing! lol Consider yourself lucky!!! It was no fun trying to put a tampon in with an IV stuck to my hand (TMI?). LOL Sheri

Hi! I had my visitor the week before surgery so I thought I'd be lucky and not have to deal with it while at the hospital. WRONG. I got it again 1 day after surgery, and have not had it again ever since. Surgery was August 26, 2011. I do have PCOS, but this is still an unusually long time for me. There's no chance that I'm pregnant. My surgeon just says my hormones are really messed up and will straighten out in time. I was a revision from VSG to DS and had a lot of complications, so my whole body has been through a lot of trauma.

Google Vasectomies and read how they can re-canalize themselves.
