I have some pre-op testing to do early in January (I'm getting switched on Jan 31st!), and one of the things I need is a chest x-ray. What is this for? I have no issues doing it, of course, but I was just curious what it's for.

It's a routine pre-op requirement for anesthesia to make sure there is no underlying lung problems.
