So it turns out I have been diagnosed with shoulder tendinitis, or impingement syndrome in BOTH shoulders! This is really a painful thing and I am about to embark on physical therapy. I already got a steriod shot in the shoulders and that didn't work. So now they are discussing giving me high doses of anti-inflamatory drugs?
Will high doses affect my sleeve lining? The orthopedic surgeon is clueless about the DS, so I had to come here to find out if this will be bad for my new sleeve and DS guts!?!
thanks ya'll,

As with any NSAID, you want to use it sparingly, like a normie would. Using them for your injury for a short time shouldn't be a problem, but prolonged daily use may cause problems like it would for anyone.

Ask your orthopedic surgeon if you can have Celebrex. I take Celebrex 200mg PO CAP, one capsule a day. I was told by my D.S. surgeon it was the best of all the Nsaids to take for pain, with the least chance for ulcers. I have on going hip and knee arthritis, and other pains. They are trying to prevent stomach ulcers, and don't like me using any other Nsaids on a regular basis.

Like Sandra, I take Celebrex, 200mg, once a day, some times 2 times a day for knee and back pain due to physical injuries, disc degeneration, and arthritis. My surgeon agrees it's the best NSAID out there and also recommended I stay on PPIs... which I do anyway for GERD which has worsened since surgery. I had to change from generic Prevacid to Nexium and that worked. GERD can worsen in 5% of WLS patients... I guess I was one of those. Anyway, all is controlled with Celebrex and NSAID for the pain.
