***X-posted on the DS board***
So, I was just looking for feedback about early post-op life. With food, with weight loss, with body image & how others in your life reacted to your 2nd (or 3rd) weight loss surgery.
And, of course, how you got to where you are now, a year out, or even more.
Experiences, please!!!?!!!!
As for me, I am 2 1/2 months out, my weight loss as of today has been 45 pounds. I did have some complications, but I am slowly improving. I will be returning to work the first week in April. Since that is a more physical job, I will get my stamina back up to par in a hurry.
Initially, when I was approved for my revision, my husband was not excited, and frankly DID NOT want me to go through with it. I did anyway. Now, He has accepted it. My low self esteem, and low self worth are definately a work in progress.
As for food. I still get nauseated in the mornings. Thankfully, it is not EVERY MORNING any longer. And a BIG Thank You to my PCP for the anti-nausea medicine. That has helped tremendously. There are still foods I will not even attempt yet, but, since I have been feeling better, I have attempted some of the ones (non-protein) I have been craving, like bananna peppers, who knew?? But, even if no protein value, still better than sugar!!!! As for sugar cravings.... none.... but I have been craving more veggie things, like baby corn, and cucumbers.... you get my drift.
I DO need to work on my vitamins, and I feel GUILTY saying that, because, I was so RELIGIOUS with my RNY, and my levels were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good at my annual blood draw last October. Fixing to get my 3 month labs done in the next 2 weeks.
