I always wondered when folks talked about their scars what they looked like. I actually wondered, when folks talked about a LOT things, what they looked like, so I have photodocumented a lot of things, and my scars have been one of those things. I never thought the scars would be more noticeable than the damage I had done to my skin by being heavy, but I was definitely curious. This is 2 days after surgery. Dr. Alvarez sews you up on the inside and Steri-Strips you on the outside. This is 10 months after surgery. I have arrowed where the scars are. They are reverse of the 2 day picture, since that was taken in a mirror. This is 2 years post. You can see my scars are much less noticeable than, say, my bellah's coy little grin. And bonus! THE TERMITE QUEEN!! Or - the stomach that got gone! Of course YMMV, if a human keloid scars, or has a reactoin to the strips, or if you are sewn up or stapled on the outside, have a reaction to the staples, had surgery done open instead of laparoscopically, et cetera. Feel free to show your scars to the incisionally curious! *if you click on the picture, it will open into a larger photo, especially if you want to try and find the tiny staples on the Termite Queen!

Thanks honey! Its amusing how my skin still changes from day to day, more filled, less filled, but its mah belly! It always amazed me when folks who had been my weight had bellies that never looked heavy at all!! Course, those were folks who carried their weight other places more than their belly.
I had a nice round belly and a bigol booty for ballast! :}
Damn. My avatar died again. Maybe I will make the Termite Queen my new avatar until it dies again!

Thanks, it was interesting to see how small the staples are - I imagined them these huge things . . . good to know!!!

@barb, have you seen the video where they take on out? You see them cram it in an endo bag and then walk it out of the port! The port it was taken out of is the larger (but still not large enough, it would seem! :}) one on the left hand side of my belly button, where there are 2 port holes.
cool stuff huh!

Wow! I never saw a picture of the part of the stomach that was taken out! Thanks for sharing the pics. I haven't been as brave to take pictures of my belly. Amy
