Fri, 2/10- 10:28 Kathy just called, while she was having a blood transfusion. She's anemic, so that's the current issue, but otherwise, she's doing well. She sounds good, is in good spirits, we had a few laughs discussing poop. And she said to tell you all how much she appreciates your thoughts and well wishes. We didn't talk about the specifics of her scare, I'm not sure if she was ready to get more info yet, but I'll find out when we talk next, she might just want to wait and update everyone herself later on. Just so glad she's healing up now!

Wed, 2/8- 12:58pm Just talked to Kathy, she's still shaken up but doing really well. She actually died last night, and they brought her back! It was major breathing issues, she still doesn't know the exact source but likely a combination of the anesthesia, sleep apnea, pain medication. She isn't ready to ask Dr. K all the questions yet. Her parents had been told she was ok, and were gone when all this happened, so they didn't find out until very late last night. But she is stable and in good spirits, considering; I told her about the well wishes here and it made her happy, thankful.

Wed, 2/8- 11:45am - Hi everyone, I just got off the phone with Kathy's mom Vera and Kathy had a pretty rough night. After being cleared as stable after surgery, she developed serious breathing problems and literally stopped. Dr. K, the anesthesiologist and the team worked on her for several hours, and she is stabilized and will make a full recovery. I haven't talked to Kathy yet for more specifics, Vera will talk to her again tonight, and I told her to ask Kathy if she prefers to talk or have me talk to her mom, but to know that I/we checked in on her.
Vera is a sweet lady, she and her husband Mike are in their 80s, bless their hearts, and so supportive of Kathy. We talked about my recent RNY-DS revision, and she was glad to talk to someone too who had been through it and was doing well. So how about swinging a few extra critters, prayers, light, whatever you like to send, for some extra credit for Kathy and her parents.

Tues, 2/7 - 11:20am - I just spoke with Kathy's mom Vera, Kathy is out of surgery and it was a success. It took a little longer, Dr. K said she had a lot of scar tissue, but things look good. Her mom was very cute on the phone, it reassured her when I told her I had the same surgery done with Dr. K; Kathy told her she didn't have to wait at the hospital, but being a mom, of course she'll wait, I told her the cafeteria food was decent and to take a break.

Kathy arrived here in California Friday from Virginia for her consult with Dr. Keshishian in his Delano location. She's having RNY revised to DS. Her parents live in Fresno, so she is staying there until her surgery tomorrow and will stay with them post-op, which works out nicely for her. Her mother will call me once Kathy is either in recovery or up in her room.
Busy February for our people crossing to the other side, rooting for Kathy, we know she's in great hands with Dr. K.
