I know which product these are from and its the general consensus that those amounts aren't the best. In fact some of them don't even meet the levels recommended by the ASMBS (namely vitamin k). You can ready about the ASMBS guidelines for post bariatric supplementation here wlsvitagarten.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/bgs_final.pdfThe amounts set out by vitalady.com are hugely higher than this. Which approach is best is up for debate but I personally would be more inclined to go with more is better until you know otherwise. Kyal

As a starter basic multi, maybe. What brand, who makes them and how much do they cost?

Oh that one. Go a much cheaper route: Get a generic version of Centrum or Centrum Silver and work up to two of those twice a day. That'll be your basic multi and it will cost a tiny fraction of that BA stuff. A $13 bottle of 500 such vites from Costco (Kirkland brand) lasts me four months at that rate.
You're still going to have to supplement a number of things in higher doses anyway.

Thank you for your opinions and yes they are from Bariatric Advantage$37.25 for 180 i was just checking things out . thank you GACK!!! 180 @ 4 per day = 45 doses = $.83/dose? I don't THINK so. Or was it 3? Still too damned much money for a multivitamin.

Not to mention they're absolutely disgusting. They were giving them to me in the hospital. I am supposed to take 3 a day in addition to 2 regular chewable multi's a day. I just smiled and nodded when they told me that and made noises like I had ordered them. When my husband made a run to Walgreens later to pick up my new prescriptions he asked what they were because he couldn't find them in the store. I told him not to worry about it because I was ordering something better.

If you want chewable - I use the CVS brand - Spectravite, Centrum Equivalent. With BOGO (they have the sale very often) I get 60 multi (monthly dosage for RNY ) for less than 5. When I used BA I still had to add K and D anyway... and A... so now - it is the same... And for 4-5 a month (or less if you do not mind pills, and those you can get in Sam's or Costco) I get chewables.
