Im onto soft foods now and am finding that I'm just not finding anything that satisfies me.
I've tried cheesy eggs and mashed potatoes with gravy. Tried them each once and now I have no desire for them again. I bought some refried beans and gonna get some deli meat.
I've checked out Dina's website and the eggs face site too.
Any other ideas to try?

Scallops and other soft white types of fish. Straight cheese. The insides of a taco, MAYBE. Use caution with this one .

During the soft/mushy foods phase wouldnt you literally be able to eat just about anything if it was pureed? Just curious if that would be a good way to eat something youre craving or to get more food proteins in....someone will chime in and let us know Im sure....
Other soft foods I can think of would be cottage cheese, that ricotta fluff recipe I keep seeing floating around, puddings, creamy soups (hello lobster bisque here I come), Ice Cream, Greek Yogurt, Chicken/Tuna/Egg Salads
Hope this helps!

I ate tuna......hot and cold. Warmed with some wasabi or cold like tuna salad.
Ricotta warms with a bit of Marinara sauce (watch the sugar content).
Bean soup swirled in the food processor. Same with chili.

Between the high occurrence of lactose intolerance postop and the high sugar content of even "no sugar added" ice creams, you're looking at gas hell with that one. Hope this helps!

In the recipe section there is a thread for mushies. I liked plain egg yolks with butter Tried some Wendy's chili early on...big mistake. sour cream (all natural) on your refried beans make them go down better... What did you revise to? Your siggy area doesn't say.

Oh, and I'm not the greatest cook but when I was on the mushy phase I bought a plank of fish from long john silvers and took off the breading...that with tarter sauce tasted like heaven.

Shrimp and scallops worked really well for me. I struggled eating anything in the first few weeks... something would work one day and be disastrous the next. Shakes with a banana were pretty good. Just hang in there

hummus, applesauce, SF pudding, cottage cheese and/or greek yogurt, flavored with ... just about anything. SF Torani, or salsa, or whatever.
Guacamole, cauliflower with melted cheese, especially cream cheese (ck with your NUT or surgeon on veg's, but really well-cooked cauliflower is pretty soft), Wendi's chili. I didn't like the refried beans in the can @ the grocery store, but Taco Bell's rocks! Especially with their green sauce, and you can ask for extra cheese.
Tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad (these could be difficult, consider pulsing them in the food processor and lots of mayo, greek yogurt, or both, for lube).

Refried beans with cheddar cheese melted into it, topped w/ mild salsa & sour creme Tuna with lots of mayo. pate, w/ cheese on the side Greek hummus w/lemon Greek yogurt plain w/ SF fruit jam my soft cooked turkey chill- mild Natural peanut butter w/ splenda cashews chewed really well Deli chicken and turkey is the softest meat. chicken meatballs
Used tiny spoons and forks, little plates. Dished out a sampling of a variety of foods. Nothing really tasted great till way into the second month. One solid food meal was enough for me each day. I relied on protein beef broth, and chicken broth to meet my protein requirements. Soup counts for fluid totals and protein- double duty !!!

I'm not sure if it's too early for you yet (maybe someone else could chime in on that) but maybe you could try some protein bars with a softer consistency. I'm 4 mos. out and I still have a heck of a time with anything too dense like most meats except seafood. Therefore I've been pretty much living off protein shakes, protein shots and soft foods like soup, greek yogurt, cheese, etc. However, one thing that really fills me up and satisfies me for hours are the Atkins Peanut Butter and Chocolate protein bars. Might be worth a try. Here's a link: www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=DK-1278&sourceType=cs&source=FG&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=DK-1278

The Atkins bars have a lot of carbs, don't they? I am restricted to 50 carbs a day, trying to stick with veggies and protein. Some bars found at Bariatric choice, and diet Direct and GHP store, Grand Rapids have less carbs. Worth looking into. Carbs will slow your weight loss, used to help maintain once goal weight is reached.

I ate taco meat with tons of sour cream and cheese like 2-3 weeks out- it was mild- mild enough for toddlers to eat.
then i just ate fish, lobster, etc, i wasnt restrcited to soft food stage- i just made sure to chew everything really well anyway.
And cottage cheese is a huge staple of mine. 1 cup is 30 grams protein of the type i eat. I sprinkle splenda on it and it has always gone down so easy.

I had some tilapia last night with some tarter sauce. Wasn't exactly what I had hoped it would taste like, but yummy enought to eat.
Made some tuna now, gonna try some after it chills a little.
Thank you all for the ideas, it has def. given me more options to try!

I made a pork roast and blended it up with pork gravy... at that point it was the best thing I ever tasted. I would have never eaten it pre op.. nor do I now, but then... yum!
