Thought I would combine Sat and Sun; how are weekends for everyone, do you find it more challenging when not in the weekday work schedule, routine? Do you cook more, dine out more, curious :-)
I'm still struggling with a very testy feeling stomach, which I'll address appropriately in a separate post. So I'm doing a lot of repeat, as I try to figure out what the culprits are.
Meal 1 - 2 strips bacon (early with iron) Meal 2 - HB eggs, cottage cheese Meal 3 - Protein Shake
Not sure about the rest, I'm craving chicken wings, maybe buffalo, I have to see how the day/stomach goes. Yesterday I wound up swapping out a protein shake for a protein bar instead; and a lo-carb quesedilla, fried in canola oil and loaded with cheese.

This morning so far I have had a protein Shake (30grams), a greek yogurt, and a bowl of chicken tortilla soup (from scratch, 11grams protein) and some G2. Here shortly I intend to have some cottage cheese. Then some roast beef a little later, and probably more cottage cheese. For supper I am thinking a smoked chicken, if I can talk hubby into smoking me one. If not, that is on tomorrow's menu for sure. I'll update again later.

I love chicken tortilla soup, can you share your recipe? I just had a quesedilla instead, made with a lo-carb/fiber grain tortilla, plenty of cheese so total protein is 28g protein.

I had about 3-4 oz of ribeye (from yesterday), a cheese "pizza", 3 oz of grilled chicken breast, some thin-sliced toast. I'm toying with the idea of a small salad with some cheese and HB egg.
I have no clue what I'll be eating tomorrow. We were supposed to go shoot some archery at our friends' house, but it's supposed to be rainy and cold. I'm toying with the idea of making a bacon quiche!

Shooting archery? Awesome, and great exercise! What's your "cheese pizza" consist of? I finished my day yesterday with a lo-carb quesedilla, store bought chicken wings from the grocery store that weren't worth it, dried out. So I'm going to make some chili from the leftovers today. And turkey sausage links with sf maple syrup. Also picked up some thin cut NY sirloin and ribeye to make some dishes this week.

I'm just 6 weeks out from surgery, so still no carbs for me at all. So, I made a ginormous pot of vegetable/egg drop/chicken soup for the weekend. The stock was boiled from scratch with a wide variety of seasonings, chopped onion, garlic, celery, parsley and after boiling, and straining out bones and mushy chicken shreds, an additional amount of grilled chicken breast (cubed) added. I also added in to the stock Shirataki-Tofu noodles, peas, wax & green beans, edamame, carrots, and 2 beaten eggs drizzled in while boiling. This is served in a bowl over a nice mound of cheesy mashed cauliflower. No simple carbohydrates in the whole pot, only from what is naturally occurring in the veggies. The whole family is loving it. Sharyl, it's the lo-carb tortilla with the melted cheese cooked on the skillet. We talked about it on Thursday or Friday. That's kinda my "fall back on" meal, if I don't feel like "cooking". It's a good way to get some cheesy protein goodness real quick! ;D

Well, you know what I ate! I grilled a steak for lunch yesterday and ate half of it. Had my husband's holiday party last night and had steak again. This morning, I had the other half of my steak from yesterday's lunch. Dinner- probs some pork tenderloin on the grill. I got on the scale and hit an all time low this morning! That's what that steak does to me....AND I LOVE IT!

Woohoo on the all time low! I'm definitely going to incorporate more steak in my diet, and some real chicken, make my own tenders and nuggets. My body responded to a high protein, lo complex carb diet and I'm thinking that hasn't changed much, I just have to do some tweaking to fit the DS life.
I have to say after this morning's 'other' discussion, not experiencing much appetite ;-)

Oh GirlRocker! Your reference to the other discussion made me laugh out loud! Haha! I still have my issues getting that chicken down, but a nice NOT OVERCOOKED steak is wonderful! I am having a great day today and I owe it all to my steak. Hehe

(© 2012 Lisa Renee Robinson) That soup sounds FABULOUS and is exactly one of the best ways to use shirataki noodles. I'm going to try this for sure. I love smashed caulifower, haven't ventured down the veggie road yet, so hoping they agree with me because I love that, spinach, asparagus, broccoli. We'll see :-) I steer completely clear of simple carbs too. Fullhouse mom - ! I suspect I might be able to consume steak the way others eat bacon. Right now I'm sipping a chocolate protein shake with a side car of peanutbutter. I had a piece of lo-carb tortilla with some ham to get down my iron/multi this morning; will eat some kind of lunch at the art show, gonna wing it! Though I'll have a protein bar and water bottle of course with me just in case. And dinner, steak, glorious steak, which I will top with a tiny bit of spinach and healthy sprinkle of feta cheese.

I had (for lunch and dinner 'cause it's such a big portion now to me) a Parmesan crusted chicken breast from Longhorn Steakhouse! Oh it's just the yummiest (is that even a word??) chicken ever! ;D

I followed this recipe here allrecipes.com/recipe/chicken-tortilla-soup-i/ with these modifications: Used 5 boneless/skinless thighs left hominy out added 2tbs cumin added a chopped up jalepeno used fritos instead of tortilla chips (and only a few) I also used my own full fat chicken stock

Beth, sure yummiest is a word :-) And parmesean is a kick-ass alternative to breadcrumbs, so is ground almond. I make my own chicken this way too, full breasts and tenders on the stove top.
Tortilla soup recipe sounds great, I love Allrecipes site. Thanks for sharing, both these chicken soups sound great, I miss my one pot dishes and think these will sit well.
Not a big eating day for me:
Meal 1 - piece of lo-carb tortilla, ham (to take with multi, iron) Meal 2 - protein shake Meal 3 - lo-carb pizza with cheese and ham Meal 4- protein shake Meal 5 - steak with feta, been such a good day so far re: the 'other' post ;-) I'm not gonna risk the spinach yet

We had a lot of family in for the weekend. My wife made a big pot of beef and noodles, mashed potatoes and green beans (because it feeds a lot of people for little money) I picked out a few peices of the beef, a spoon of mashed potatoes and loads of butter and some green beans. Later in the evening I was hungery so I had a protein drink.

I made chicken and dumplings tonight. I made a double batch so I could have leftovers, but the family ate it all

So I ate "out" for the first time today. My boyfriend took me out to Olive Garden and to a movie. I ordered cheese ravioli with meat sauce. I ate about 3/4 of one ravioli and a little bit of sauce. I had the rest of that ravioli when I got home Now I have lunch for a week! lol
