Howdy all, stepping up to help Yorkie, who has to travel to the UK to be with someone in her family who has cancer :-( My heart goes out to her. I'm on medical leave from work, happy to pitch in.
Here's my game plan for today, subject to change based on the Poop Patrol ;-)
Meal 1 (early) cottage cheese to take with iron Meal 2 protein shake Meal 3 2 hard boiled eggs, 3 slices bacon with sf maple syrup Meal 4 salami slices, cheese Meal 5 Leftover vietnamese - banana leaf talapia, lemongrass chicken, 1 tbsp of papaya salad Meal 6 Protein shake

I started the day off with a protein shake. I have some leftover Mexican food in the fridge, that will be my lunch. Most likely it will be steak for dinner. I will snack on Pistachios today and some cheese later.

B = Protein shake w/iced coffee B2 = Pork Lau-lau [pork & spinach steamed in banana leaves]
L = 2% cottage cheese [8oz] w/diced tomatoes, onions, 3 strips of bacon [in pieces], garlic salt, pepper. Love this stuff! L2 = 1/2 Avocado, shredded cheese, onions, tomatoes and salsa.
S = 1 lemon, 1 tangerine [w/too much salt on the lemon]
D = Salisbury Steak, mashed potatoes, sliced cucumbers.
S = Scallops and Octopus Jerky. Just like beef jerky, but it's fish.
Through out the day, I'll be sipping on my 'guilty pleasure addiction' in life. 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar with Shoyu, garlic salt, 1 splenda and pepper.
What can I say, I'm addicted to SOUR!

Girlrocker - What kind of iron are you taking? Unless you're taking Proferrin, and even then it's debatable, you shouldn't take iron at the same time as calcium, and cottage cheese has calcium in it.

Ah, that's right, I'm still getting the vitamin combining down, thanks! I'm taking regular GNC iron, what else can I eat with it that will give me a cushion so it doesn't kill my stomach? Bryan, that menu looks great!

I had good intentions yesterday (see above post) Then we went out for lunch. We went to Applebee's and I ordered they soup and sandwich lunch special. I Got a half of a Ruben an Tomato Basil soup. I took the top grilled bread off and scraped the filling off to the side to eat but I just HAD to try a bite of the buttered grilled bread, WOW it was so good but I only had 2 small bites and went back to the corned beef and cheese and the tomato soup.

Heya Pkt! I think it shows tremendous willpower that you stopped after 2 bites of bread, and then went back to focus on your protein. It's very difficult to resist yummy buttered bread. ;D

Steak and mexican both sound great to me too :-) I'm pretty much a Polynesian Redneck, born and raised in Hawaii, but I also lived 20 years in Oklahoma. Makes for a broad range of interesting foods and I've always been open to trying new, funky, interesting or just down right weird. Works for me. I figure, even 9 years later, my portions are limited so I want the most bang [aka as What the frick..?] on flavors.

I love octopus. Where do you get that? Do you make it? Steve, <DSNuts> I bet you COULD make it yourself, if you have a dehydrator? Or even, slow and low in the oven? I'm not that creative and I just order it online. The online stores I use are websites in Hawaii - places I used to walk in and stock up on the stuff. Lots of Hawaiian fruits, dried fish, arare, wasabi products, marinating sauces, li hing mui, rock salt plum, etc. I'll include both websites, if you're interested, they run different specials and I tend to go with the best deal. Also, since shipping from the islands can cost a LOT, I do a lot of bulk ordering and pay the max shipping at $17.50. Yes, coming from the islands it's expensive. www.crackseedcenter.com/Category.aspx?categoryID=12www.cybersnacks.net/dried_seafood.html[Im sorry, I don't know how to make hyper-links out of them] I supplied the pages that takes you straight to the 'dried seafood' on both sites but they have so many other healthy - delish snacks. Well, assuming you like unique stuff. ALSO, if you have a really good/large Asian store near you, try there too. Sure beats saving on shipping via online. We have one about a mile from our house that orders stuff specifically from Hawaii for his polynesian customers so I'm fortunate. This is where I get the Lau-Lau, Portagee' sausage, smoked octopus and cuttlefish. I can't say enough about the FISH JERKY [in any form] if you like seafood and you like jerky, you'll love this. However, fish jerky is NOT limited to Hawaii, so the Asian stores tend to have a variety of brands available for their walk in customers. BTW: IF you find success in making your own Octopus Jerky, please share the details. I'm all ears/eyes.

I grilled a boneless chicken breast with just salt and pepper on a george forman grill. Then made a salad of: lettuce, tomato, fresh mushrooms, carrots, shredded cheese, bacon and lots of creamy Italian dressing. Chopped chicken up and dumped on top. Took two tries to get it all in but it was yummy.
Don't usually have salads but with the pain killers thought it would help out in the bathroom. I was right!! 430am!! YAY!
