Believe it or not, I used to LOVE bacon and since my surgery, I can't stand it.

I have become extremely picky about cake, pasta, and bread. 9 out of 10 times I will spoon the frosting off the cake. I don't eat pasta unless I can't get ahold of the cheesy goodness before it's mixed with the noodles. I also hardly ever eat bread. I just don't really care about it anymore.
Pre-op I ate all those things any and every time they were presented to me. I mean really, what fat woman doesn't like cake? Apparently, me! I just wasn't paying attention.

Now I find that lots of fast food meat is too salty and tastes like cardboard. I never ate a lot of it before but I pretty much never eat it now.

I am the opposite. Couldn't stand half-n-half in anything if a recipe called for it I switched to full cream or milk. Now I can't go a day without my protein shake using half-n-half.

Fast Food. I use to live and breath for McDonalds, etc. Now the only fast food I can stand is Roasted Chicken Bites from Bojangles.

This is very interesting to me as a pre-op and is something I'll have to experience to understand, I guess. I'm really curious how my tastes will change.

I have far less interest in sweet stuff than I used to have. And I am an absolute fiend about the quality of my chocolate, whereas before I could be persuaded to settle for cheap crap.

Eggs are tough for me. I used to love them, and now I have to choke them down. Not sure why!

Anything extra salty or sweet is a turn off now. Which is great because neither is good for me. If I have candy, it has to be the best. I never craved wine and beer but enjoyed them sometimes. Now I don't enjoy them at all. Again, a good thing. At over two years out, I don't think that the DS has that much effect on my tastes anymore.

Like others, fast food doesn't appeal as much. I still eat a lot of Chipotle and Taco Time but mostly because they are fairly fresh and not as processed. The thing I used to eat a lot of before was pizza. Now, I like pizza still but rarely eat it because I can't eat that much and it's just a wasted effort! I miss being able to eat a lot of food (sometimes) and pizza falls into that category. One tiny piece is just .. not mentally satisfying.

Yes, bacon, pre prepared chicken meat balls, cheddar cheese- all too salty. Sweets too intense to enjoy. My taste buds must be on high alert post surgery!!

I can't get down the packaged deli meat I bought, and the bacon is unopened. I also can't eat reheated protein - it has to be made fresh, and I used to love cooking in batches, eating something a few days, freezing some. I'm nearing 6 weeks out, so it's too soon to really tell, but now I'm wondering how much of this will actually stick. Guess I'll find out!

Puff pastry, used to use it when I made quiches etc now I can't stand it, so it's frittatas for me. On the other side, I used to hate sesame seeds now I love them.. go figure.

Fast food is mostly not worth my time. I don't eat white flour and lets face it, that's what fast food is. I do, rarely order a baconator with no bun or a whopper with cheese no bun. RARELY! Pizza is not worth it. Again, white flour.
Like sheri says, I loved bacon preop. I can take it or leave it now. I still like it but I don't love it. I buy maybe a pound a month, MAYBE!
Milk. Only in cereal. Also, it has to be whole milk even then!

Used to LIVE for my own home-made bread (cinnamon rolls, etc), McDonald's fountain coke, and Little Caesar's Crazy Bread. Can't even be tempted with those now, absolutely no zing in them for me anymore.
What I really love is my Fuzzy Navel protein (Isopure) before bed. Oh, and anything BACON or CHEESE. And I am now a chocolate snob. Can't be bothered by unbranded or Hershey's. It's got to be Godiva, Nutella or Dove. My "real estate" is too valuable to waste it on the cheap crap.

Pasta, rice, and potato chips. Used to love these things pre-surgery, now they're just too starchy for me to eat.

Not just on chocolate (but FOR SURE!!), I also am just pickier about my food in general. If it isn't quality, I am unlikely to eat it.

Although, I will say, I'm a dyed in the wool Carnivore & Mayo-vore, so if that changes, I'm in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

Buffalo Chicken Wings. As a pre-op, I loved them and longed for the day when I got my DS and could eat them guilt-free. Now, I absolutely cannot stand the taste.

For almost a year after surgery I wouldn't touch bacon. Every time I tasted a bite, all I could taste was SALT (I haven't eaten with salt since my dad had his first heart attack in 2000). Then I discovered LOW SODIUM BACON and it was love.

I havent had my surgery yet but I hope I start liking tomatoes after. Tomatoes are in everything and I really want to like them. I really hate that I hate them.

I loved tomatoes and tomato soup before surgery. I can't tolerate them very well yet at 8 weeks out. I hope that changes!

I am prone to throw away food that just isn't tasting really good, etc. I would never do that pre-op (well, rarily). I also don't have any desire for left overs. They just turn me off. One thing I have had to learn to do is eat my meals cold, like eggs, for instance. Before I couldn't/wouldn't eat a cold egg. Now I pretty much have to, because I eat so slow. I guess we all adapt.
