I buy half & half for coffee. You could also do heavy whipping cream, but it costs a lot more than the half and half. I go through a lot of butter now, like at least 1 pound a week. Bacon, sour cream, cream cheese, cheese.

I still use half and half or soy creamer most times. I like a lot of cream in my coffee and heavy cream was just too much fat... Digestively. Full fat cottage cheese and regular cheese. Dark meat chicken! Sausage. A lot of people like full fat yogurt if you can find it. I still like low fat yogurt personally

At 5 1/2 weeks out, I'm having cheese - I buy bricks, different types and shredded so I can melt on things, whole milk cottage cheese, sour cream, peanutbutter, almond butter, bacon. One of my favorite snacks is melting brie in the microwave, and eat with a 1/2 tsp of sugar free preserves. Or deli meat spread with cream cheese wrapped around piece of cheese. I also will cook up my bacon or use pepperoni, put it on a plate, sprinkle with shredded cheese, microwave for a minute, and it's like crust-less pizza. I don't like mayo, but if you do, that's a good one too with eggs and tuna. I've always used half 'n half in my coffee. I just started making it again last week, usually don't have more than a half-cup, but I'm thinking with the Big D issues I'm having, upset stomach, more due to the supplements than food, I think I need to back off caffeine still for awhile, switch to decaf. I'm not a tea drinker.
Eating full fat has been a little strange for me, I don't like the taste, but these are things I've been able to adjust to pretty well. I also saute with butter and as I start to cook more, will use different flavored oils - olive, peanut, sesame, and will add avocado too (easy to do in California)

Good morning,
I use half and half in my coffee, sometimes heavy whip. I purchase butter, whole fat sour cream and yogurt, olive oil, peanut butter, nuts, etc. I don't buy low fat stuff because my family doesn't need the fake stuff and I remember thinking I could eat with abandon as long as it was lower sugar or fat. Wrong!

I don't buy low fat anything.
I have a special formula for the cream in my coffee that I have been using for at least 20 years. It is about 20% of the volume of the coffee (I like my coffee creamy!), and is 2/3 regular Coffee Mate, and 1/3 French Vanilla Coffee Mate (the vanilla flavored stuff is waaay too sweet for the amount of cream I like in my coffee).

It's been a bit of challenge for me to increase my full-fat intake. I've always preferred chicken and turkey breasts to the thighs and drumsticks, but the darker parts agree better with my new stomach, so I eat them now. My go-to beef steak has traditionally been the leaner sirloin cuts, but I'm looking for more marbled cuts now. I'm not a fan of smoked foods, so I avoid bacon and ham; I've found that Canadian bacon has a milder flavor, so it's a better choice for me. My surgeon's PA recently suggested that I add more fat and fiber to my diet, so with that in mind I discovered celery sticks dipped in Point Reyes Blue Cheese Dressing - very, very good. I also like double creme brie and Tillamook Special Reserve Extra Sharp Cheddar (but no bread or crackers, as I'm low-carbing, so I'll occasionally enjoy these with a half apple; peanut and almond butters are also great on apple slices). However, I still prefer the mouth-feel and flavor of Fage 0% Greek yogurt, Knudsen 2% small curd cottage cheese, and Jarlsberg Lite slices to their full-fat counterparts. I have always used olive oil when sauteing/roasting veggies, but have recently tried topping them with a bit of butter. I do like that don't have to worry about the fat in avocados, almonds, walnuts, and pepitas now. And as for coffee? Always hot, strong, and black.

I buy heavy whipping cream at Costco by the half-gallon. It's $7.99. I use it in a ton of stuff. I use 1/2 cup per cup of coffee. It's my favorite thing. I generally go through one of those cartons every week or week and a half. It depends on how much coffee I drink and how many other things I put it in. if I cook with it, it'll go down faster or if I'm also using it in protein shakes. Either way. It's dang cheap at Costco so that's where I get it. I'm a huge fan of chobani yogurt, it comes in varying fat levels but I buy for flavors not fat content in the case of chobani. They all have higher levels of protein which is the main reason I went Greek. They are regular sugar but my system tolerates it better than fake sugars. I do not intentionally do anything low-fat. The exception is the chobani since my two favorite flavors are 0% fat.

Yummy ultra fatty treat stuff: Clotted cream and/or Devonshire double cream. Eat on some kind of conveyance (this is something I reserve for some really fancy artisan bread, so I have no other suggestions for that part) with some orange marmelade. MMMMMM.

Ooooh, olives, didn't think about those, duh, LOVE them. Yum, can make delish 'peasant' plates with salami, cheeses, olives, pate, toss in a couple lil gerkins, one of my favorite ways to eat.

I had afternoon tea in London this fall at the Lanesborough and I could have picked up the bowl with the clotted cream and licked it clean...

I dont count fat grams, but know in my head where the good balance is for me. Too little, and I"ll be constipated. Too much, and I'll have urgency and diarrhea. But I really have figured out what works for me.
I haven't done low fat anything since my DS - which is freeing, fantastic, and tasty! I get enough fat if I use cream in my coffee every day, which for me means about 3-4 cups of coffee, all very light, but not sweet. I use butter like it's going out of style. I snack on olives and cheese. That's enough for what my body requires. If I don't do that, I'm constipated. If I have a day where I just don't get my olives and cheese, or am otherwise light on fat (this happens to me frequently on business trips), I'll duck into a Starbucks and get a breve latte - made with half and half, and sugar free syrup.
Now, I were to have a day where I ate a TON of fat, I would have bathroom issues. This happened as recently as last week. My hubby brought home Chinese takeout. I could see the oil on everything I ate. I also ate a TON of those deep fried noodles. I wasn't worried about the calories at all, but had to stay close the a bathroom the following morning.

Right now, with my last week of hellish constipation, I have stayed away from cheese, until today. Cheese has always been my "go to" food with my RNY, cause I suffered from dirrhea. But thaks for the examples!!!!!!!! Much appreciated!!!!

Could someone tell me what the brie cheese tastes like or similar to? It's hard to describe, because it tastes like brie...it' not similar to cheese like cheddar, swiss, etc. It's a soft cheese, with a kind of runny consistency, especially if you bake it. Sometimes supermarkets, or especially a specialty food store, or a store like Whole Foods, will let you sample cheeses if you ask. You could try that if you're not sure about it.

Could someone tell me what the brie cheese tastes like or similar to? Brie is very mild tasting, but quite different from the usual cheese tastes. The closest comparison I can think of in common cheese would be Monterey Jack. But it's not all *that* close.

My favourite cheese is camembert or brie, topped with a sweet chilli sauce and a pile of fresh corriander.

Full fat shopping list (most of this stuff I like to get @ Costco):
1/2 gals of heavy cream, brie cheese, queso blanco if they have it, fatty cuts of beef, those 4 pound stacks of butter, bacon, nuts (esp. pecans and almonds), olive oil, cream cheese, sour cream, Babybel cheese, and cheese sticks.
