Had my follow up with the psych and he had to ask me a ton more questions for clarity, once that was done he said he is all good with me having surgery, but his only worry is that I would put off going in if I was having too much pain. >.< Once I told him I was going to stay in contact with the DS peeps on line and that I would take any serious pain seriously he was ok with it all. Now the only thing between me and the dark side is one more nut visit and the insurance approval. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Good for you!
Now, coming from a psych doc, that is a very pertinent concern. I dunno if you've spent any time around therapists or not, but generally it's pretty rare that one would make such a direct statement after just an evaluation. So something sent up a good sized yellow flag for that.
Please remember that. If you're anything like me, you can minimize some really serious shit stuff when it comes to physical symptoms. Somewhere around here, oh it was Loulou's thread about exercise and stuff, I told about how I believed I was having a little shortness of breath when I was in severe respiratory distress.
After lo, these many years of forum reading and posting, I've seen plenty of both extremes, from people who go bonkers over a crumb in their poop to people who want to wait till week after next to call their surgeon with a fever of 102 and green stuff running out of their incisions.
No being a hero, you hear?

No being a hero, you hear? Yea he was mostly worried about making sure I was getting proper pain control cause I told him that I try to limit my narcotic use to when I absolutely need it due to my mother being a addict and I want to limit my chances of turning into that kwim. I have no intentions of being a hero, I plan on being a big ol' baby and taking all my pain meds for as long as I need them I have also had infections after surgery before and made sure I was on top of it, but I dont plan on freaking out over minor shit. If I am perplexed I know were to come and ask questions
