I got a baseline bone scan before surgery. I am wondering when I should get it repeated and how often after that.

You may have to check with your insurance. Mine allows a screening bone scan every other year. My Endo wants one every year due to my worsening osteoporosis. There may be a clause for screening versus diagnostic exams. Mine are no longer classified as screenings and insurance will pay for diagnostic.

I'll e-mail my PCP and see if I can get a diagnostic screening. She is very DS friendly.

I get one every two years. Just got my order for bone scan from the doc the other day so I'll do it at the same time as my mammogram.

I had a baseline and then one every 2 years. As long as my scan comes back fine, every 2 years is recommended. Should I see deterioration then it'll be annually.

Hmmmmm.....I asked my surgeon about a baseline but they said it wasn't necessary.....I wonder if I should get one anyway, I'm 3.5 weeks out...
