First let me say that i KNEW this would happen. I planned for it by giving hubs my scale so i wouldnt be tempted to weigh daily (i have all my life.) Weighed this AM for my 6 wk weigh in. Lost not a lb!!!
Let me repeat...I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! Is it any easier, nope. But i started thinking of all the things that has happened in the last 6 wks that i should be really proud of.
I know there are several baby DSers that maybe going thru this and i know there are other out there that are currently at a stall.
I would love for everyone to put up their NSV (non scale victory) whether you are in a stall or not.
My NSV:
Down 3 dress sizes and 23 inch overall. Had to bust into my clothes bin that hasnt been opened since 2004!
Everyone notices my weight loss. And since im not one to shy away from compliments, ive been basking in the compliment SUN:)
My friend lives on a second fl apt. In the past i would truck up those stairs then stand in front of the door puffing for 2-3 mins so i wouldnt embarrass myself before i would go in. Went over to her house this weekend, up those stairs and thru the door with no resting and minimal puffing ;D!!!
I dont know if this counts but i love all the food i get to eat. Having the band previously there was so little i could eat and spend most meals waiting for bites to go down. It was a miserable existence. Now i eat delicious foods and I enjoy cooking again because i know it will be good and not some gross diet concoction that will taste like cardboard.
So whats your NSV???

People call me thin, little, and skinny. I love to hear it though it usually shocks me first bc I still have some body dysmorphic disorder and see myself as bigger. When someone else uses those words it is a little wake up call that people perceive me better than I perceive myself.

Seeing a size TWO on my pants (I have no rear end and my hips are that size...too bad my waist isn't and vanity sizing RULES, LOL) Being called skinny, thin, etc by people who didn't know you before Going down an entire shoe size Working like a trojan at renovating the house and cleaning the yard, knowing a year ago I would not have been able to do that.

Congratulations on your success! I weigh myself every day, but I have never gotten upset when I haven't lost weight. I had about a three week stall early on, but thankfully, had read about that happening and wasn't the least bit worried. I have never been silly enough to think that the DS didn't work for me! Early on, survival is more important than the numbers on the scale.
Your "no weight loss" post is a refreshing positive spin on the stall. Keep up the good work!

I was 6 week out too and haven't lost any since week #4. I knew this would happen too and I have had some fruit (so carbs) but it kinda irks me cuz I am not eating any of the BAD CRAP I used to ingest so I would think I would be steadily losing.....but oh well!! And I am still in the same clothes because they are all stretchy!! LOL

momx4: just get your fluids, your proteins, and try hard to get your vitamins every day. I am 2 months and one week out, and I am losing weight rapidly. I had that three week stall right about where you are at. Hope you are feeling better.

I'm not quite to my goal weight yet (25 to go), and on the dating site I am on, I list myself as "a few extra pounds". I have gotten numerous e-mails from men saying that it needs to be changed, that they don't see any extra pounds at all. That makes me feel kind of giddy

Something that still happens even five years out: People don't recognize me, often until they hear my, um, unique laugh ;D.

My NSV is about clothing shopping. All my pre surgery clothes, 2X were sliding off me. My first clothes shopping trip 3 1/2 months post surgery shocked me to see medium pants fit. My husband thought we would save money with my inability to eat much. He didn't realize I would need an entire new wardrobe, including shoes. I slip out of my shoes as I walk, even with extra sole pads!! My gym trainer is constantly trying to get me to untuck my hips, but there are no muscles there any more, and I'm not tucking. On the long drive from Mi to Fl My tailbone aches from no padding. Had to fold up a blanket to sit on. Happy for the extra height, since I was sinking down lower and lower having trouble seeing over the dash board to drive. The seat is pushed up to the max. I was worried to be out in a bathing suit around the pool for the first time in a long time in Fl, but a majority of kids and adults are very overweight now, a trend. I felt more trim and in shape than most. The last time my height was measured post surgery, I shrunk 1 1/2 inches, down to 5'1, had no idea that would happen!! ;-)

My most recent NSV was getting on a plane, fitting in the seat with the arms down and not having to ask for a seatbelt extender. ;D

I have just ended a 5 week stall with a great NSV. As I was trying to find clothes to fit me to go out I was so down because nothing fit. I was about to sit on the floor in the middle of my room in tears but then a light bulb went off in my head.... " Try on your husband's jeans!!!". I laughed to myself thinking no way in hell would they fit....and they did!!!! and then I reached into his closet to get one of his t-shirts.... Holy crap!!! It fit as well. As you can imagine I came strutting my stuff out of the bedroom. He made a comment how I had found something to wear and then his jaw dropped when he realized I was wearing his clothes.....lol. In another breath he told me he was not surprised as just a few days ago he told me I was getting too thin...lol
Oh yeah... another NSV about clothes.... My parents are here visiting and the other day my mom and I were exchanging clothes, something I have not done since I was a teenager. It felt nice wearing my mommy's clothes...lol....now my son's are waiting for me to try to jump into their clothes...lol

Went out to dinner with a male friend last week and the guy sitting at the next table kept oggling me. My friend eventually became so annoyed with the blatant staring that he told the other guy to stop checking out his wife.

I am down at least a complete shoe size and if I attempt to wear an old pair bc they match an outfit, they are ready for the goodwill by the time I am done with the day bc they slip off all day, It feels like when I was like 4 and would put my Dad's workboots on.

I've got one. I had to go to the doctor's twice this past week. Each time I hopped up on the old-school scale with the slider things it took longer than necessary to get my weight. This is because the nurse sets the big slider at 100 and then nudges the smaller slider towards 20. When that's not enough, she moves it over with the slightest taps because she expects it to stop before 130. She looked so surprised when she had to go up to 150. This happens all the time! I guess I look smaller than I weigh!

I posted this on the sneaky pj thread, but my most recent NSV was being able to take my hoodie off and tie the arms around my waist while shopping in the mall on Christmas Eve. Amazing.
Hugs, Ratkity

My scale is up a few pounds from last month. Even though I'm at goal I still stress the scale too much for my liking.
I have to remind myself of how far I've come, and my NSV was last night. My 22 year old son bought some Christmas gifts from Victoria's Secret for his 22 year old girlfriend. He realized that he accidentally got doubles of some yoga pants and tops, and asked me how he goes about returning them. I realized that his GF and I are the same size (M), so I bought them from him. My mind was a little blown that I'm the same size as her, because she looks so normal and small to me.
Before my DS, I would have NEVER even ventured into VS

My all-time best NSV was last year, when my boyfriend picked me up and carried me around. I had been so heavy for so long, it had been decades since anyone even tried that. I felt as light as a feather!

I have another, just returned from a week in Florida, without a scale. followed all the D.S. eating rules, broke my stall- weighed 4 lbs less-- total loss of 80 lbs !! Ate more protein in the form of real meat, steak, chicken, shrimp, crab, lobster, sausage, meat balls in sauce w/cheese and walked many times throughout the day. 3-4 times a day- double packages of 15g protein drinks =30g protein- lemonade, or hot chocolate, mixed in 16oz water. Sipped most of the day. It was so much easier not to weigh every day frustrating about slow or nonexistent weight loss. Thanks, to all of you who can now say"I told you so" !! ;-)

Thanks, Honeybadger Jennifer for the positive spin on stalls. It is a refreshing perspective. I haven't taken any measurements since surgery so I don't know how many inches I've lost. I'll have to do that in the next couple days to take stock.
I do realize I'm moving easier but stairs still bother me due to knee issues. It is easier though and that is something. It can only get better with more weight loss because for each pound lost, there is 8 pounds of leverage pressure off the knees... that's tremendous!
I am still wearing most of my clothes though they are much looser and I HAVE put my two biggest size pairs of jeans in the donation bag. Yay!!!
Keep up the good work, Jennifer! And thanks for the positive outlook!

Mine was yesterday when I got dressed to go after-Christmas shopping. Put on my beautiful red Brocade vest that was tight the last time I wore it, and I was swimming in it. I have a beautiful blue one just like it. Bye-Bye my beautiful vests, will miss you!

I have two, kinda rolled into one. When we put up our Christmas tree every year, I always have to have someone else put the tree skirt under. I just couldn't get down on the floor, or fit under the tree to arrange it. THIS year I was the one on the floor, and as I arranged the skirt my 17yo son came in and said "Dang mom you've lost A LOT OF WEIGHT!!! You look great" I said "Thank you honey, I guess" as I was lying face down under the tree. LOL !!!
