Well, I just got back from my PCP. I told him about wanting to get DS and, to my surprise, he knew what DS was AND he agreed it would be the best option for me.
Then I told him about Mexico and Dr Ungson. I expected him to talk me out of it but he just told me, "It sounds like you've really researched all this." He added he would suggest for me to look more into it but since I already was armed with info. he just told me to come back so he can see how my preop weight loss is going. He also added that he can order my labs for me yearly post-op. Good Doc!
Then I told him about my heart. He is sending me to have a stress test, lab work for:
CBC
COMP MET PANEL
LIPID PANEL
TSH, 3RD GENERATION
Not sure what these test are but I know some of them are part of the preop lab requirements.
Also, I have to have an ultrasound of my right foot and ankle. Yep, I have swelling in my right foot and ankle and Doc was worried about my pulse.
So, tomorrow morning, bright and early, I have a date with the hospital to have my ultrasound. I'm calling insurance to find a cardio doc in my network. Hopefully, everything will show up fine.
Dr. Ungson's nutritionist is developing a tailored diet menu for me. Honestly, it's amazing to have all of this attention to my health. I haven't had insurance for almost three years. In that time, I guess I just kind of put my health to the side. Now that I have insurance I can afford to have all these tests done to see where my health stands. It's kind of nice, in an odd way.
Anyways, thanks to all that has followed my journey so far. I appreciate your support more than you know.
