Hello Everyone,
I have posted a few times on the DS board, but I am really an RNY to DS revisionista! I think my digestive system finally woke up after I started eating soft foods (its really day 9 not 7 for me today). However, I think I have my first complication. In reading up prior to surgery I came to believe that I have had an anal fissure that occurred so long ago I cannot recall when. I have had crohn's like problems for years and I think I developed it as a result of that. Unfortunately, this morning I discovered I have a new one.... so now two... can you say ouch? Well, I don't really know what to do about these....but I will tell my surgeon at my post op visit.
So far I have not had any problems taking my vitamins or with the egg, cottage cheese or mayo drenched tuna that I have eaten. I still have a lot of gas pain, but today is the first day that I am really passing gas. I feel pretty good and its hard to believe I had such a major surgery such a short while ago (touch wood)
I feel a little strange posting this information here, its not the kind of stuff that I can imagine anyone really wanting to hear about someone else, but I really would appreciate any advice regarding the possible fissures.
Thank you,
Katherine

Hi Katherine,
Just sending you support. I don't have any experience with what you are experiencing. I think I've had every other complication, just not that one!
It sounds like you are doing well, other than that. Hoping your recovery continues smoothly and that you soon feel completely better.
