Hello gang, my revision from RNY to DS is scheduled for this Thursday. I've been on full liquids for a week and am hungry!
My surgeon requires 2 bottles of magnesium citrate the day before surgery. Does anyone know how many ounces I need? Any suggestions for getting it to stay down?
Wish me luck!

Just wanted to say good luck this Thursday! My friend also had the revision from RNY to DS and she's down to her ideal weight. You'll do great. I'm a lapband to DS revision and I'm below goal. You won't be hungry right after the surgery so just hang in there, only two more days!
I'm sorry, I haven't heard of taking magnesium citrate prior to surgery, must be specific to your surgeon. Who is your surgeon and where are you located? Just want to make sure I'm praying for the right person and will be making room for you on the loser's bench!
Good luck, Kelly

They're small bottles and taste like lemon lime. Hold your nose and chug. You'll be fine. Stay hydrated.

Took me a minute to learn how to reply. lol!
My surgeon is Dr. Elariny and I'm located in Virginia. I put the magnesium citrate in the fridge. I'm supposed to drink two 10 ounce bottles not later than 6 PM today because my surgery is tomorrow.
On clear fluids today - drinking lots of water and apple juice to stay hydrated.

Mmmm, apple juice sounds good. I haven't had it in ages, no reason, just haven't had it lately. I'll have to get a bottle today. You're doing great. I've heard of your surgeon so that's a good thing. Everything will go smoothly and you'll soon be losing so much your head will be spinning!
Please check in after surgery and let us know how you are doing. We're also here for questions and your sounding board. Remember, we've been thought it!
Good luck tomorrow, Kelly

Hi gang - I'm out! Was released from the hospital on Sunday. I feel like I got hit by a bus; so many body parts ache right now. I'm hoping I will feel a little better at least by the end of this week. And the sore throat from the stomach tube - yikes! Going back to sleep soon. I plan on dreaming of being a healthy 44 year old. ? Will check in again later.

Yup. The "feeling like you got hit by a bus" thing sounds familiar. Hopefully, your throat will feel better with every passing day. I encourage you to sip water just as often as you can stand it. It's probably the most productive thing you can do for yourself right now. Hope you get more rest, and keep us posted!

Glad to hear you're home, sorry for the way you feel right now. It's temporary, keep in mind. You will feel better and as the pounds melt off, you'll be thrilled!
Sip and walk, over and over again!
Hope you feel much better very soon, Kelly

Congrats. The only things you should be thinking about now - resting and drinking. Listen to your body. If it tells you to sleep, then sleep. Just stay hydrated. Also walk. Just simply walk around your house.
