Do you hear what I"m saying about protein, calcium, and iron?
Go to the store right now and buy a bottle of calcium citrate.
And make an appointment with a hematologist.
Try to get your internist to test your PTH, ferritin, and pre albumin.
And start logging everything you eat and get up to at least 150g of protein every day, and 64 oz of water.
DO NOT WAIT. NONE OF THIS IS NEGOTIABLE.

My Fitness Pal is that an app for mobile phone or what. I downloaded one and it seemed kind of hard to use and only tracked calories.

FitDay is another one. You need to track grams of protein and carbohydrates.

I started drinking Perrier mineral water because I heard it was almost as good as plain water for hydration. Have you heard that it also has some calcium. It seems like if I have a cabonated beverage with meals I can eat more and I figured this was better than Diet Coke.

That's fine. Just make sure you drink 64 oz per day of water, whether carbonated or not. Some people don't drink carbonated beverages because it bloats them. I drink seltzer all the time with no problem.
You need to take 8 calcium citrate tabs every single day. 2 tabs, 4 times a day.

I think many of you guys suggestions seem very good. I am going to make an effort to comply with some. As far as infusions I will never take one voluntarily again. The last time I had malnutrition I had an infusion of albumin which put me in a coma for 3 weeks and I lost my legs. I am going to start taking iron supplements again with vitamin c which I already have. I am going to get the vitalady's vitamin d and will take one a day also I will get calcium citrate. If you look at my labs you can see what 5000mcg of b12 did to my b12 level so since I picked up some 2000mcg will try them daily. I am going to stick to the metagenics whey protein isolate, 2 scoops in a shake and will try to take 3 shakes a day. I will try to eat better and more if that is possible. A lot of the vitamins on that list I can get considerably cheaper at Vitacost but some not. I want to thank everyone for taking an interest in my problem. I will keep you informed and I am going to try to keep track of my intake so I can see what I am getting. Thanks again. I have to be somewhat frugal with what I pay for vitamins but that list on Vitalady definately gives me a point to shoot for. Vitamin D cannot be bought in that strength in a pharmacy or anywhere else that I know of without a prescription so that is definately a good find and I believe you when you say the dry is better absorbed. And they are way more expensive like $25 for 30 and my Plan D doesn't cover them.

Lots of us get them. If the oral iron does not bring your levels up you will have to get iron infused. Chronic severe long term anemia is life threatening. You need to see a hematologist and you need your ferritin checked. As for your eating "if I can" is not acceptable. You MUST consume adequate protein or you are essentially starving yourself to death. I mean death.

OK using My Fitness Pal I set my Protein at 150 what should my carbs be set at. I also put in 2400 calories. How about sodium it seems it is always low on my labs. As far as fats they are perfect in fact my VA doc told me I should write a book on how to keep your cholesterol perfect. I know that is the operation.

You don't need to track calories...only crabs. Forget calories. One other thing, why are you taking the oil filled caps...we don't absorb them...we get no benefit from them at all. Spend your money on Vitalady vitamins and you will see the difference. I'm also on a limited income but I do seem to make do with the Vitalady vitamins. I buy my calcium petites at CVS or Walgreen's, haven't checked WalMart. I also get my zinc, potassium and I tried to take vit C there but I can't take that...burns my tummy.
PLEASE go to a hematologist. I had iron infusions about six years ago. My iron, ferritin levels are all great to this day and I don't have to take iron pills. My hematologist is surprised but happy. I'm sure you are frightened of the infusions,I would be considering your last results, but seriously, I took them very slowly and they worked. You may not be as fortunate as I was, but getting your iron levels up will make you feel so much better. Trust me I know all about anemia.
I'm so glad you are here and NYCB is telling the the gospel - she is 100% on the money. She's 14 years out and knows what she's talking about.

Yeah I was supposed to have the albumin slowly. That is why the doc put my in the hospital overnite. The nurses were in a hurry. I had a reaction to the first bag couldn't breathe but I came out of that so they continued with the second. The nurse was squeezing it so it would go into my IV solution faster. When I went into the next reaction I couldn't breath and they couldn't get me out of it by the time they intibated my oxygen was below 50%. I tried to sue them but they had doctored the records and no mention of first reaction. It was all blamed on my malnutrition.

Are you surprised you are malnourished??

Thinking of chicken noodle casserole for dinner. We use Country Pasta real high in carbs and protein for noodles. Chicken is the rotisserie chicken from Costco and mushroom soup and onion and celery. Getting hungry yet?
