Back in today for surgery my pain was caused by leak that went septic. I now have a feeding tube and 2 drains for 6 weeks. I give up :-(.

Oh, sweetie, don't give up. I know that's how you feel right now, but at least they have found out what's wrong, and we hope they have fixed it.
I hope you can get some rest and take it easy. Not all surgeries go this badly, you were terribly unfortunate. I would be mad as hell, if it were me.
Just try to do the best you can and I promise you will get better. I do hope the doc isn't charging you for this, is he? If he does, raise hell with him. This isn't your fault and he knows that. Get tough. I know you don't feel too tough right now, but when you are better, give him hell.
In the meantime, rest, do what they tell you...walk, sip, and sip some more. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I really am. One good thing, you must be losing weight...that's a real plus...but a hard way to lose.
Hang in there.

Oh, Dawn. I feel awful for you. I'm praying that, by now, they have fixed the leak and you are on your way to recovery. Let's say, three is the charm, and that will be it with surgeries! In the end, it will be worth it because you health will improve tenfold and you will feel like a million bucks. This is definitely the hard, not to be tolerated part. I'm sending good wishes and peace for you to accept this additional bump in the road and recover quickly...
Get well soon, Kelly

I'm so sorry. Revision can be really difficult, and I can understand how you feel defeated. If it helps, I've seen other people over the years have similar issues, and they all bounce back beautifully. Hopefully you will turn a corner very soon and have smooth sailing from there on out.
That probably doesn't do much to make you feel better right now. It's so understandable for you to feel the way you do. Hang in there, it will get better.

Things will get MUCH better!
Some day you will say,"Well, I had a rough start, but I would do it all again to get to where I am now."
Hang in there!

OK, when you can sip...then sip and walk and sip some more. Hydration is key at this stage of the game. You will be sipping before you know it. Best of luck to you.

{{{{{Dawn}}}} biggest, gentle cyberhugs! I am SO sorry this is happening to you. No question revisions can be very difficult, and the RNY to DS/sleeve is the biggest besides the old VGB. Complications can also happen in 'virgin' surgeries, less so overall with the DS; but I went through a terrible time when I had my RNY in 2002, 6 weeks in the hospital, nothing by mouth, second surgery, infection, open wound, wound vac, I was out/off work for 4 months. I also know others who have gone through leaks, and they are really hard, but you can and will heal. It takes time, and your first priority is to focus extra hard on your healing and recovery, staying hydrated and getting in the nutrition you can. The hospital should be helping you both with fluids and TPAN if you are too nauseous, and I'm sure you are not allowed food yet. Please, do NOT give up, and the opposite, STAY HERE. We will help see you through this, hold your hand, support you. I also really think it will be time for you to see a specialist when you get past this. I don't like at all what I've read about your surgeon not giving you a real sleeve, a bait and switch decision without your consent. But you can focus on that a little later. Please know there isn't anything you can't post, share here, you don't have to feel guilty, worry about 'scaring' people from surgery, feel like you're posting negative, all the things people struggling with complications can feel at times. This is a support forum for the good, the bad and the ugly, it's all part of the surgery process. Complications happen, you need support and it's very ok for people considering surgery to know the whole picture of possibilities. Sending you lots of healing vibes for a full recovery.

Hi Dawn I was just wondering how you are feeling. I know how hard all of this is on you mentally and physically. I've been thinking about you hoping each day you are feeling a little better. I hope things turn around for you and you can finally breath easy and be happy. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I haven't seen Dr Hong since he did the original surgery not once has he checked on me after he operated. Yesterday was a bad day my lung collapsed and breathing was so hard. I had a good night and today is a new day. My husband and kids are planning on coming to visit tonight that will be nice I haven't seen them since sat.
Thank you all for taking the time to send some encouragement.

Thank you all for taking the time to send some encouragement. Dawn, I'm glad to hear you had a good night after the scare with your lung. One day at a time it's going to be very slow I know, and very hard, but hang in there, people DO heal from leaks. I do not want to ruin the good juju by commenting on your surgeon, but on all fronts, what he has done, how he has conducted himself is inexcusable. Hang in there and stay with us. Very glad too you get to see your family! Do you have an iPad there at the hospital, dvd player so you can watch movies? How about a foot massage? Are you completely nothing by mouth, or allowed to drink anything? If so, maybe some sugar free popsicles will help? Don't be shy about asking for anything, make them take care of you!

Oh Dawn I just feel so bad for you. You are very strong and very brave to be going through all of this and having to be alone. I know you are scared and down but try to stay positive and focus on how very strong and brave you've been with all you've been through and give yourself a huge hug. I know it's going to be long and hard but I feel you will get better soon. Each day a little closer to being stronger and feeling better. My heart goes out to you. I'm sure you are suffering emotionally as well. I hope the nurses are taking very good care of you and I hope you have everything you need. My prayers, thoughts and hugs go out to you. Everyday I hope you get a little more happiness. You're doing incredible for all you've been through!
